NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Indiana
(Wednesday, November 11th)
Final Score: Indiana 108, Golden State 94
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger finished with 31 points and 16 rebounds, carrying Indiana to a 108-94 victory over the Warriors.
Earl Watson, playing extended minutes after T.J. Ford left early with back spasms, notched 16 points.
"I knew I had to get into the flow of the game no matter what and take leadership on the court," Watson said. "I tried to get everybody the ball to get our offense in rhythm."
Roy Hibbert contributed 16 points and nine boards for the Pacers, who have won three straight after opening the season with three losses. Tyler Hansbrough and Brandon Rush each added 11 points to the winning cause.
Corey Maggette and fellow reserve Anthony Randolph compiled 21 and 17 points, respectively, to pace Golden State, which failed to gain momentum following Monday's emphatic 146-105 victory over Minnesota. Randolph also grabbed 13 caroms in the loss.
"I want to win," Randolph said. "I'm not focused on just offense. I'm just focused on going out there and playing hard, playing aggressive."
Eight straight points cut Golden State's deficit to 93-84 with a little over six minutes left in the game.
Monta Ellis' slam had the Warriors as close as seven, 98-91, but Hibbert and Granger hit back-to-back field goals near the two-minute mark to make it a double-digit lead that was never seriously threatened.
Watson's three-ball at the first-quarter buzzer put Indiana ahead, 32-28. A 9-0 run to end the half ballooned the Pacers' cushion to 64-47.
The margin reached as high as 21 in the third frame. The Warriors chipped away at the deficit but still trailed, 84-70, with 12 minutes to play.
The Pacers were without forward Troy Murphy for a third straight outing due to a bruised lower back...Golden State has lost in eight of its last nine visits to Indianapolis...Ellis had 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Warriors, who were outrebounded 57-42...Dahntay Jones had four blocks and 10 points for the Pacers.
