NBA Game Summary - Portland at Phoenix

(Wednesday, February 10th)

Final Score: Portland 108, Phoenix 101

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Steve Blake recorded season-highs of 20 points and 12 assists, as the injury-depleted Trail Blazers held off a late Phoenix rally to hand the Suns a 108-101 defeat at US Airways Center.

LaMarcus Aldridge had a team-high 22 points and Andre Miller checked in with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, helping Portland snap a two-game skid and run its winning streak against Phoenix to four games after losing 11 straight in the series.

The Blazers snapped a nine-game road losing streak in the series, winning in the desert for the first time since February 4, 2004 .

Amare Stoudemire paced the hosts with 24 points and nine boards. Steve Nash added 15 points and 11 assists for the Suns, who had their five-game win streak halted.

Portland led 30-20 after 12 minutes of action and hit from the floor on nine of their final 10 possessions of the first half to take a healthy 60-44 lead into the break.

The Blazers pumped their lead to 22, 77-55, with an 11-2 run through the middle stages of the third, ending on a three-point play by Jeff Pendergraph with 4 1/2 minutes remaining.

Phoenix was within 83-67 heading to the fourth quarter and completed a 15-0 run that bridged the final two frames with Jared Dudley's second three-pointer of the stretch capping things for an 83-67 game with 10 1/2 minutes to play.

But The Blazers battled back with an ensuing 12-2 surge, sparked by consecutive three-pointers from Blake and Nicolas Batum.

The Suns threatened to cut their deficit under double digits as Channing Frye put in back-to-back baskets and Nash struck from long distance moments later for a 98-88 difference with about four minutes left.

Then Phoenix took advantage of a poor stretch by the visitors, as Martell Webster's tip-in with 2:40 to go served as Portland's final field goal. Stoudemire hit consecutive buckets to start an 8-1 burst and ended it with two free throws to bring the hosts within 101-96 with 30.2 seconds left.

Nash drained a three following two Blake free throws for a four-point game, but failed to hit from long distance on Phoenix's next possession. Miller and Blake combined to go 4-for-4 at the line from there to seal the win.
