NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Oklahoma City

(Tuesday, March 2nd)

Final Score: Oklahoma City 113, Sacramento 107

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook finished with 39 and 30 points, respectively, to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 113-107 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Durant also grabbed 10 rebounds and Westbrook had 13 assists for the Thunder, who have won three in a row. Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The Kings made just under 54 percent of their shots, but Oklahoma City nearly matched that, making half its shots in addition to sinking 28-of-32 free throws.

"Of course we didn't play the way we wanted to, but you're going to have games like that," Durant said.

Tyreke Evans had 27 points to pace Sacramento, which had won its last two contests. Carl Landry added 17 points and seven boards, while Francisco Garcia and Beno Udrih each scored 13 in the loss.

"I think we're definitely going in the right direction," Kings head coach Paul Westphal said. "We're unfortunately a couple years behind the Thunder timetable. We're trying to do the same thing they did."

The Kings were within a possession a number of times down the stretch, including when two Landry foul shots made it a 108-105 game with 2:15 to play.

But at the other end, Durant threw down an alley oop dunk to give the Thunder some cushion. Each team was unsuccessful on its next two possessions, and Westbrook got to the line with 47 seconds remaining. He made the first before missing the second, and Landry's dunk had the Kings within 111-107 with 34.1 seconds to go.

Oklahoma City ran down the shot clock before Durant missed a jumper with under 10 seconds left. Garcia missed a three before Durant sealed the victory with two free throws.

The Kings ended the frame with seven straight points to get within 28-25 moving to the second, when the teams traded the lead multiple times. Oklahoma City scored seven of the last 10 points of the half, however, and Westbrook's three at the buzzer made it a 65-58 Thunder lead at the break.

Oklahoma City led the entire third quarter and took a 90-82 edge to the fourth. But shortly into the final frame, the Thunder had a scoreless stretch of nearly three minutes. The Kings managed five points in the same span, getting within 97-93 on a Landry layup, and it was close the rest of the way.

Game Notes

Oklahoma City held a 43-32 rebounding edge...Sacramento sank 20-of-24 foul shots (13-of-17 from Evans)...The Thunder had 23 second-chance points.
