NBA Game Summary - Indiana at LA Clippers

(Saturday, December 5th)

Final Score: LA Clippers 88, Indiana 72

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Marcus Camby had a solid all-around performance with 12 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and three blocks, carrying the Los Angeles Clippers to an 88-72 win over Indiana.

Al Thornton contributed 19 points and seven boards for the Clippers, who won for the third time in four games. Chris Kaman added 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Baron Davis and Eric Gordon scored 12 and 10, respectively.

Danny Granger had 11 points for Indiana, but played just 18 minutes due to a bruised right heel. Troy Murphy led the way with 13 points for Indiana, which also received 12 points from Roy Hibbert and 10 from Mike Dunleavy. Indiana held LA to 34.9 percent from the field, but hit just at a 37.5 percent clip and went 5-of-21 from three-point range, on the way to its fifth straight defeat and ninth loss in 10 games.

"We had trouble making baskets. We turned the ball over too much," said Pacers coach Jim O'Brien. "We didn't have enough fire power tonight."

The Clippers won mostly due to their tenacious effort on the glass, as they held a 58-34 rebounding edge.

"Defensively, we were pretty good, especially on the boards with 19 offensive rebounds," said Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. "We were able to limit their shooters to tough shots and our second group gave us a lift."

Earl Watson's bank shot had the visitors within 70-68 with 6:54 left in the game, but the Clippers then pulled away with an ensuing 11-0 push. Thornton capped it with a layup with 1:47 left.

The Clippers took a 22-18 lead after 12 minutes and built the lead up to double-digits in the second before escaping to the locker room with a 41-39 edge.

A pair of free throws from Tyler Hansbrough late in the third had the Pacers within 56-54, but they trailed 63-56 moving to the fourth.
