NBA Game Summary - New Jersey at Detroit

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Will Bynum poured in 20 points off the bench and five other Pistons scored in double-figures as Detroit clinched a playoff spot after defeating the New Jersey Nets, 100-93, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Rasheed Wallace finished with 15 points, and Antonio McDyess and Jason Maxiell each went for 11 points for Detroit, which was coming off a 113-86 win at New York on Wednesday. The Pistons have won three straight after dropping the previous three contests.
Richard Hamilton donated 10 points and nine assists, while Rodney Stuckey chipped in with 10 points and eight helpers in the win.
Detroit, in the playoffs for the eighth straight year, is tied with Chicago for seventh in the Eastern Conference with both teams a game behind Philadelphia for sixth.
"We're glad that we're in," said Pistons coach Michael Curry. "Hopefully we can get the best position possible, but more importantly keep playing better basketball and let our injured guys get their legs under them."
Ryan Anderson led the way with 20 points for the Nets, who have lost eight of their last 10, including a 106-104 loss at Boston on Wednesday.
Brook Lopez, Keyon Dooling and Chris Douglas-Roberts each registered 16 points for New Jersey.
"We're not supposed to mail it in," said Nets coach Lawrence Frank. "This is part of our responsibilities."
Detroit grabbed a 27-20 lead after the opening quarter and its lead quickly ballooned to double-digits in the early stages of the second. After Arron Afflalo finished off a Pistons 8-0 run near the midway point of the period, the hosts held a commanding 44-28 lead.
Afflalo then hit a jumper at the buzzer to put Detroit ahead 54-38 heading into the break.
In the third quarter, the Pistons' advantage grew to 20 at 68-48 after a Stuckey three-point play. The Nets were able to narrow their deficit to 78-68 after three.
The Pistons maintained a comfortable double-digit advantage, 92-79, after Maxiell finished off an alley-oop jam with 6:09 left in the contest.
Despite the Nets getting to as close as five in the final two minutes, Detroit held on.
Detroit will play at Indiana on Saturday, while the Nets will host Orlando...The Pistons improved to 21-19 as the host this season...New Jersey fell to 15-25 on the road and has lost six straight and eight of its last nine at The Palace...Both teams split four meetings this year, but the Pistons improved to 9-2 in the last 11 contests...Afflalo finished with six points...Nets point guard Devin Harris left the game in the third quarter with a sore left shoulder...
