NBA Game Summary - Toronto at Indiana
(Wednesday, April 8th)
Final Score: Indiana 130, Toronto 101
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger led all scorers with 29 points, and Jarrett Jack added 23 points and six assists as the Indiana Pacers destroyed the Toronto Raptors, 130-101, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Roy Hibbert went for 17 points and seven rebounds, while Troy Murphy and T.J. Ford contributed 14 points apiece for Indiana, which was coming off a 117-99 win over Oklahoma City on Sunday. Murphy had 14 rebounds and Ford dished out 11 assists for the Pacers, who have won four of their last five games.
"We played hard tonight, executed a lot of things we've been working on," Hibbert said. "I am running the floor much better than I have in the past. I am improving, but still have a long way to go."
Chris Bosh had a team-high 21 points and nine boards for the Raptors, who dropped a 118-110 decision to Atlanta on Tuesday. Toronto has lost three straight after winning its previous six contests.
"It's over. The best part about it is that it's over," Bosh said about the loss. "Doesn't matter which five we've got out there, we've got to play."
The Raptors were without starting center Andrea Bargnani. He was nursing a sore left heel and was replaced by Patrick O'Bryant, who had 16 points and seven rebounds.
Joey Graham and Anthony Parker donated 14 and 11 points, respectively, in defeat.
Indiana held a 37-28 lead after one quarter, then opened the second on a 14-5 run and following a pair of free throws by Granger, held a 51-33 lead five minutes in.
Things only got worse for the Raptors as Jack drilled a trey with 2:26 left in the half the Pacers' advantage ballooned to 25 at 68-43. The hosts held a commanding 74-48 lead heading into the intermission.
In the third quarter, the Pacers picked up right where they left off in the first half. A Hibbert layup in the early stages gave the hosts a 30-point advantage and it was all downhill for Toronto after that.
Jack's three-point play upped the Indiana lead to 100-67 with just over 3 1/2 minutes to play in the quarter and it was 115-74 after three. The Raptors never threatened in the final period despite the Pacers playing the majority of their reserves.
