NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Rodney Carney and Ryan Gomes scored 25 points each, as Minnesota snapped Utah's 15-game home winning streak with a thrilling 103-102 victory over the Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Timberwolves handed the Jazz their first defeat on their home floor since San Antonio beat Utah, 106-100, on January 27.
Gomes added eight rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have won two of three after a seven-game losing streak. Mike Miller ended with 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Sebastian Telfair added 18 points and seven assists off the bench in the win.
Minnesota snapped a nine-game road losing streak, winning outside the Target Center for the first time since February 18 at Miami.
"It was a good win for us. We were low on bodies and Kevin Love was throwing up all day today so he gave us what he had but he was low from the start of the game. It was a satisfying game," Minnesota head coach Kevin McHale said.
Utah was paced by Deron Williams, who had game highs of 34 points and 11 assists. Mehmet Okur finished with 11 points and six boards for the Jazz, who have dropped three straight games. Kyle Korver and Andrei Kirilenko ended with 19 and 13 points off the bench, respectively.
Utah holds the seventh spot in the Western Conference, one game ahead of Dallas, which lost to Memphis on Friday. The Jazz are 1 1/2 games behind New Orleans, which lost to Golden State late Friday night, for the sixth spot.
"That was a must win for us, honestly every game (is a) huge game, that was a winnable game," Okur said. "We couldn't really execute the last few minutes."
A pair of foul shots from Williams put the Jazz ahead 95-91 with about three minutes to play. Minnesota responded with five straight points, as Miller's three-point play gave his team a one-point lead.
Paul Millsap connected on 1-of-2 from the charity stripe at the other end to knot the game at 96 with two minutes to go.
After the teams traded baskets to tie the game at 98, Carney drained a three- pointer from the corner to put the Timberwolves ahead 101-98 with one minute remaining. The teams traded another set of baskets, then Williams made a driving layup with 27.2 ticks left to bring Utah within 103-102.
Gomes misfired on a three-pointer at the other end, and Kirilenko collected the defensive board and called a timeout with 2.3 seconds to go.
During the inbound play, Williams took the pass after he got open off a screen. Williams went up for a shot from the left side of the foul line, but his shot hit off the front of the rim as time expired.
Trailing 14-10, the Jazz finished the first quarter on a 17-5 run to go ahead 27-19. Korver tallied six points during the spurt.
Okur's long-range jumper capped a 7-0 Utah flurry, giving the Jazz a 51-36 margin with two minutes to go until half. Utah headed into the locker room with a 56-46 advantage.
Williams paced all scorers at the half with 20 points. Utah went 16-of-16 from the stripe in the first half, while Minnesota hit 3-of-4 foul shots.
The Timberwolves put together a 13-2 run early in the third period, taking a 61-60 edge. Carney tallied eight points during the surge, which was topped off by a Miller trey with just over seven minutes remaining.
Utah regained the lead and led for the remainder of the quarter. The Jazz took a 77-72 advantage into the final stanza.
The fourth frame was a wire-to-wire battle that came down to the final minutes.
Minnesota shot 53.3 percent from the field, while Utah hit 48 percent of its shots...The Timberwolves went 11-of-26 from three-point range, while the Jazz went 5-of-11 from beyond the arc...Utah hit 25-of-29 foul shots, compared to 12-of-15 for Minnesota...The Jazz still won the season series with the Timberwolves, 3-1...Utah forward C.J. Miles left the game with a dislocated left index finger. X-rays were negative and he didn't return to the game.
