NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Boston

(Wednesday, January 28th)

Final Score: Boston 119, Sacramento 100

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Eddie House was on fire to the tune of a season- high 28 points on 8-of-9 three-point shooting, and the Boston Celtics rolled to their ninth straight win, 119-100, over the Sacramento Kings.

House went 10-of-13 from the field and Rajon Rondo contributed 24 points and nine assists for Boston, which shot an efficient 55 percent from the floor. That included a 10-of-15 clip from Rondo.

"All season we've been trying to find our niche, our identity and I think we found it," said House. "Any given night it can be somebody chipping in for the team."

Kevin Garnett posted 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Celtics, who moved to 23-2 at home. Glen Davis tallied 14 points, and Boston won easily despite Paul Pierce being limited to eight points and eight assists on 1-of-5 shooting.

John Salmons scored 22, and Jason Thompson chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Kings, who lost their seventh in a row. Kevin Martin had 18 points for Sacramento, which blew a double-digit lead in the opening quarter and fell to 0-20 against Eastern Conference teams. The Kings are 3-22 on the road overall.

"I don't think their tempo was any different more than our sloppiness and shot selection which led to them getting out on the break," said Sacramento coach Kenny Natt. "It all started with us and our lack of execution on the offensive end of the floor and bad shots and they were breaking out on us. They had a lot of layups so I don't think it was the fast break of the Celtics, but more our lack of execution and defensive intensity."

Thompson's bucket made it 23-13, Kings, with 5:05 left in the first quarter, but the Celtics netted the ensuing nine points and eventually went to the second down, 30-28.

House connected on four three-balls in the second quarter when the Celtics changed the game around, outscoring the Kings 40-19 for the period. They started the second on a 25-9 run, ending the push on a House three for a 53-39 lead at the 5 1/2 minute mark.

Boston held a commanding 68-49 lead at the half and continued to take advantage of a struggling Kings squad. Davis' bucket at the end of the third made it 92-78, and Boston cruised in the final 12 minutes.
