Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Corey Maggette logged 20 points and six rebounds, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 107-92 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kelenna Azubuike had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Warriors, who have won three of five and finished 4-3 on a seven-game homestand. Anthony Morrow provided 17 points, while Andris Biedrins had 12 points and 14 rebounds in the win.
"We've played better in the games we lost than we did tonight," was the assessment of Warriors head coach Don Nelson. "I don't know if that was possible with all the transition we're going through."
Monta Ellis had 10 points for Golden State.
Eric Gordon had a game-high 21 points for the Clippers, who have lost 15 of 17 overall. Al Thorton contributed 17 points, while Ricky Davis had 15 points and seven assists in the loss.
The Clippers held an early 13-5 lead, but the Warriors closed the quarter on a 23-5 run to take a 28-18 edge to the second.
Golden State led, 55-44, at halftime.
Already leading by eight early in the third, the Warriors put together a 9-0 run to take a 66-49 lead on Azubuike's basket with just under seven minutes left. Golden State held a commanding 84-64 lead heading to the fourth.
The Warriors held a double-digit lead throughout the fourth, coasting to the victory in the final quarter.
"We've played better basketball against better teams," said Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy. "We just made mistakes and we didn't do a good job finishing."
The Clippers fell to a dismal 5-15 on the road, while Golden State improved to 10-11 at home...The Warriors lead the season series, 2-0...Mardy Collins (calf) and Marcus Camby (ankle) did not play for the Clippers, while Jamal Crawford (hamstring) sat out for the Warriors...Golden State has won the last five meetings with the Clippers...LA is in the midst of a seven-game road losing streak.
