NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Milwaukee

(Wednesday, March 18th)

Final Score: Orlando 106, Milwaukee 80

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard dominated with 28 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, and the Orlando Magic used a huge first half to rout Milwaukee, 106-80, at the Bradley Center.

Hedo Turkoglu registered 14 points, 10 boards and seven assists for the Magic, who won for the eighth time in 10 games. Rashard Lewis and Courtney Lee each had 13 points for Orlando, which bounced back from a 97-93 loss at Cleveland on Tuesday.

"We just have to keep working, be more consistent with our energy and effort," said Howard. "That's what we're pushing for, making this playoff push. The guys who don't play a lot, get those guys ready because we're going to need them in the playoffs."

Charlie Villanueva had 17 points to pace the Bucks, who shot just 37.7 percent from the field and fell behind by 16 after the first quarter faced a 65-35 halftime deficit. Richard Jefferson added 13 points for Milwaukee, which lost for the sixth time in eight contests.

"The way we played tonight wasn't acceptable at all," said Villanueva. "We just came out flat from the start of the game. They are a very good ball club, and when you dig yourself into a hole like that, it's very tough to get out of."

Francisco Elson sank a short jumper to boost the Bucks to an early 11-8 lead, but the Magic then surged to the tune of a 16-3 spurt to take control. Howard netted the final four of the flurry, culminating it with a hook shot with nearly 4 1/2 minutes left in the quarter.

Orlando then used a 10-2 run at the end of the period to blow the game open, with another Howard hook finishing that flurry for a 36-20 difference.

A layup from Ramon Sessions had the Bucks within 44-30 with 6 1/2 minutes left until the half, but Orlando used an ensuing 12-1 spurt. Turkoglu's three- pointer capped the push with under three minutes left, and J.J. Redick added a three-ball for good measure in the closing seconds of the half.

The Magic's lead never dipped inside 20 in the third and they carried an 82-60 cushion to the fourth. Anthony Johnson's three-pointer extended the cushion to 91-66 with under seven minutes left in the game.
