NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Cleveland

(Tuesday, March 17th)

Final Score: Cleveland 97, Orlando 93

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored 43 points, including the go-ahead three-pointer and two game-sealing free throws with 8.7 seconds left, to lift the Cavaliers over the Magic, 97-93, at Quicken Loans Arena.

James also had 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals for Cleveland, which won its sixth straight game and 10th in 11 tries. Mo Williams chipped in 21 points and Anderson Varejao 12 in the win.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas totaled 11 boards and eight points for the Cavs, who improved to 30-1 at home.

Rafer Alston donated 23 points and Courtney Lee 19 for Orlando, which saw its three-game winning streak come to an end. Dwight Howard ended with 13 points and 15 boards in defeat, while Hedo Turkoglu scored 16 and doled out seven helpers.

Down by two late in the game, Williams hit a clutch three to give the Cavs a 92-91 lead with 1:59 showing on the clock.

Lee countered with a layup, but James knocked down a trey to give the home team a 95-93 lead with 47.4 seconds left.

"We had a lot of mental breakdowns, a couple of times we missed defensive assignments," said Lee. "To try and win championships we just got to get back and correct those things."

Howard was called for a three second violation on Orlando's ensuing touch, which led to James sinking two free throws with 8.7 ticks left to make it 97-93. The Cavs hung on from there.

"Last five games we've been great in the fourth quarter," said James. "In order for us to win games we've got to do a great job on the defensive end in the fourth quarter...It was a big win for us."

Cleveland led 28-23 after the first quarter and were up 53-50 at the break.

The teams traded the lead in the third quarter before a Turkoglu tip-in sparked a 10-4 Orlando run. Turkoglu also closed out the run with a pair from the foul line to give the Magic a 75-66 advantage.

James, though, scored the final three baskets of the third period to close it to 75-72 heading into the fourth.

James then opened the final frame with a three-pointer to tie the game. Mickael Pietrus countered with a trey, but Cleveland rattled off the next five points to grab an 80-78 cushion.

The lead changed sides from there before Rashard Lewis' jumper and Alston's layup gave the visitors a 91-89 lead with about 3 1/2 minutes left.
