NBA Game Summary - Charlotte at Philadelphia

(Friday, January 9th)

Final Score: Philadelphia 93, Charlotte 87

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Miller led five Sixers in double figures with 22 points to go with six assists in Philadelphia's third-straight victory, a 93-87 decision over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Thaddeus Young (15 points), Andre Iguodala (12), Lou Williams (12) and Willie green (11) contributed in a sound victory that saw the Sixers hit 48.1 percent from the floor and force 17 turnovers. Iguodala also doled out seven assists, while Samuel Dalembert pulled down a team-high nine rebounds in addition to four blocks.

Emeka Okafor recorded 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Bobcats, who have lost two straight after Tuesday's overtime upset of Boston. Raymond Felton and Raja Bell each logged 13 points in defeat.

The Sixers erased an early five-point deficit in the third quarter behind a 14-2 run. Young chipped in a three-point play and an alley-oop during the spurt that ended with the hosts ahead 61-54 around the six-minute mark.

Young had 11 points in the frame and Miller concluded it with a three in the corner for a 74-65 lead with one stanza remaining.

Marreese Speights' tip-in off his own miss gave the Sixers a 12-point lead, 87-75, with roughly 5 1/2 minutes to play. Two minutes after the putback, Okafor had a three-point play to get the Bobcats within 10, but three consecutive misses from the floor hindered Charlotte's comeback and sent the Philly faithful home happy.

A trio of three-pointers along with Okafor's 10 points paced the Bobcats to a 27-24 lead after 12 minutes of action.

Charlotte failed to net a field goal in the final three minutes of the second. Regardless, the visitors held a 45-43 lead at the break.
