Final Score: Milwaukee 109, Washington 93
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Charlie Villanueva scored 25 points to pace Milwaukee in a 109-93 win over the Washington Wizards.
Richard Jefferson added 22 points for the Bucks, who had lost four of their previous five games. Ramon Sessions tallied 12 points and 10 assists, while Luc Mbah a Moute ended with 13 points and nine boards in the win. Dan Gadzuric ended with 10 points and 11 boards, while Charlie Bell scored 12.
"I thought Danny was huge," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "He came in and got some big rebounds for us."
Antawn Jamison had 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Wizards, who have dropped three of their last four contests. Caron Butler had 19 points, while Nick Young ended with 13 points in defeat.
"I thought they just played with a lot of energy and got out in transition," said Butler. "Defensively they were making us do things that we didn't want to do and just become jump shooters. I think we got into our rhythm a little late. The whole game we were fighting from behind and it was tough to get over the hump."
Villanueva accounted for half of Milwaukee's first 22 points, as the Bucks raced to a 22-8 lead. It was 30-17 after the opening quarter.
Milwaukee continued to hold a big lead, stretching the margin to 55-40 at the half. Sessions ended the second with a jumper, but the Bucks saw their lead trimmed to single digits midway through the third when Mike James knocked down a three-ball for a 68-59 difference.
The Bucks, though, continued to hold the Wizards at bay and led 83-70 moving to the fourth. Luke Ridnour and Keith Bogans drained three-pointers early in the final quarter, widening the lead to 94-76, and the Bucks weren't threatened down the stretch.
Milwaukee has won the last four meetings...Milwaukee shot 52.6 percent from the field and went 11-of-19 from three-point range.
