Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Andrew Bogut scored 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, giving the Milwaukee Bucks a 79-74 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Ramon Sessions added 18 points -- including 10-of-10 from the free throw line, while Charlie Villanueva had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks, who have won two in a row following a three-game losing streak. Richard Jefferson had 15 points and seven rebounds in the win.
"This game set the game of basketball back, that's for sure," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. "These type of wins add up at the end of the year."
Gerald Wallace scored 18 points for the Bobcats, who have dropped four straight games. Emeka Okafor posted a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds, while Raymond Felton chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
"It was just missed opportunities," Bobcats head coach Larry Brown said. "But when you get behind and you can't make shots, you've got to be perfect down the stretch."
Down 10 headed into the final quarter, Charlotte came to within six early in the fourth, but Bogut's dunk with 9:02 left restored a 10-point cushion. Okafor's free throw with 6 1/2 minutes left made it 68-61, but Tyronn Lue hit a three for Milwaukee to go back up 10.
The Bobcats answered with the next six points to make it 71-67, and Felton hit a three-pointer with just under three minutes left to cut the deficit to two.
Sessions made a couple free throws to make it 74-70, and Jefferson's three- point play with two minutes left put Milwaukee up seven. With a chance to cut the deficit to one with 37.8 seconds to go, Shannon Brown missed an easy layup, and the ball caromed out of bounds.
But Charlotte got another chance with 21.9 seconds left to tie the game, as Lue stepped out of bounds on the baseline to turn it over. The Bobcats attempted a quick layup, but the shot was off the mark, and Milwaukee made their free throws in the waning moments to seal the game.
After playing to a 22-21 first quarter, the Bucks jumped out to a 7-0 run in the second quarter to take a 29-23 advantage with 7:31 left in the first half.
But the Bobcats roared back, answering with a 9-2 offensive burst that gave Charlotte a slim 32-31 edge. The Bobcats maintained their one-point edge in the defensive-minded second quarter, as Charlotte won the frame, 15-13, to take a 36-35 lead into the break.
