Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Iguodala dropped in 27 points and
gathered seven rebounds to guide the resurgent Philadelphia 76ers past the
Charlotte Bobcats, 92-83, at the Wachovia Center.
Andre Miller was an efficient 5-for-7 for 13 points and also dished out eight
assists for the Sixers, who have won six of their last nine contests. Rookie
Rodney Carney donated 12 points in the win.
Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace had 16 points and eight rebounds each for
Charlotte, which has dropped three of its last four.
The game was tight early on, but the home team ripped off a 17-4 run to end
the first quarter and assume a 29-16 advantage.
Iguodala had six points in the extended run, including an alley-oop slam off a
Miller feed with 30 ticks on the clock, and Steven Hunter added a tip-in
basket moments later for the stanza's final margin.
The two squads scored 23 points apiece in the second quarter to make it 52-39
The Bobcats made a little headway out of the break, and cut the deficit to
seven, 58-51, with about six minutes left in the third on an Adam Morrison
Philadelphia, though, quickly countered with a 13-2 run that pushed its lead
to 71-53. Iguodala carried the load during that stretch as well, netting the
last six points.
The Sixers finished the third up 74-60, and were never seriously threatened
in the final 12 minutes.
The Sixers are now 2-1 on their season-long seven-game homestand...The Bobcats
went 0-2 on their brief two-game road trip...The Bobcats are 8-17 away from
North Carolina this season...Philly's Samuel Dalembert had 13 rebounds and
