NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Philadelphia|
(Friday, February 2nd)
Final Score: Golden State 102, Philadelphia 101
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Al Harrington scored from down low in the
closing seconds to lift the Golden State Warriors over the Philadelphia 76ers,
102-101, at the Wachovia Center.
Andre Iguodala received an inbound pass at the other end and launched what
would have been a game-winning three pointer, but the shot rimmed out.
Iguodala was otherwise exceptional on the night, posting a triple-double with
25 points, a career-high 13 assists and 10 rebounds.
Three of those points came with 18 ticks left thanks to a circus shot along
the right baseline. Iguodala was fouled as he leapt into the air, but still
managed to put the ball up over the backboard and in. He made the ensuing free
throw to put the home team up 101-100.
"That's what we want him to do -- just go out there and play," said Sixers
point guard Andre Miller. "I told him he needs to be a little more selfish
down the stretch, and he's been doing that."
Harrington, though, backed down his defender on the other end and then made
the short-range shot to spoil the Sixers' comeback.
"I needed it. I struggled all night missing a lot of easy shots and getting in
foul trouble," Harrington said. "When I caught it I was looking to throw it
out to Baron, but when I caught it he told me to take it face-up. I just
waited for the clock to get down to four and I wanted to make it the last
Baron Davis had 25 points and 12 assists for Golden State, which snapped a
modest two-game slide. Monta Ellis added 21 points, while Stephen Jackson
Miller donated 19 points and rookie Rodney Carney dropped in 15 for the
Sixers, who have lost two of three.
The Warriors trailed by six at the break, but caught fire in the third quarter
to claim command. Golden State outscored Philadelphia 33-20 in the frame,
thanks to a stretch when it hit 13 field goals in a row.
Ellis had nine points in the scoring surge, including a jumper with 1:12 on
the clock that capped the run and gave the Warriors a 75-66 advantage.
Louis Williams countered with a driving layup in the closing seconds to pull
the Sixers within seven. The Sixers then clawed back in the fourth to set up
the suspenseful finish.

career...Harrington finished with 11 points and eight rebounds...This was the
