NBA Game Summary - Philadelphia at LA Clippers

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Elton Brand poured in 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers rallied to beat Philadelphia, 103-97, in overtime.

Corey Maggette had 21 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Clippers, who remained undefeated at home (6-0).

Quinton Ross scored 14 points for LA while Sam Cassell added 12 points and nine assists.

Allen Iverson scored 29 points and dished out nine assists for the struggling Sixers, who have lost five of their last six games after starting the season 3-0.

Philadelphia was without the services of Chris Webber and Stephen Hunter, both of whom were out with injuries.

The Clippers took their first lead of the game on Maggette's two free throws with 5:18 left in the fourth that made it 78-77.

Kyle Korver answered with a three-pointer for the Sixers, but LA responded with a 10-4 run to take a 88-84 lead on Ross' jump shot with 1:43 left to play. Maggette scored eight of the Clippers' points during the spurt.

Philadelphia came back with six straight points to regain a 90-88 lead on Willie Green's free throws with 32 seconds to play.

Cassell came back with two free throws of his own to even the score and LA had one last chance to win the game in regulation after Green's turnover.

Maggette had an open look at a perimeter jumper, but his shot bounced off the rim and the game went into overtime.

Brand opened up the extra period with a three-point play, but Korver dropped in a jumper before nailing a trey to put Philadelphia up 95-93 with 2:43 left to play.

Tim Thomas came back with a turnaround jumper for the Clippers and Cassell's two free throws put LA up 97-95.

Iverson then stepped in front of Thomas' pass and broke free for a layup to even the score with just under a minute to play.

However, those would be the last points the Sixers scored as Ross' layup gave the Clippers the lead for good with 38 seconds to play.

After Andre Iguodala's miss for Philadelphia, Maggette converted 1-of-2 free throws to make it a three point game, 100-97, with 21 ticks left.

With one last chance to tie the game, Korver's three pointer came up short and LA converted its free throws to ice the game.

Led by Iverson and Samuel Dalembert, the Sixers stormed out to a 25-13 lead after the first quarter.

Dalembert scored the first six points of the game for Philadelphia and Iverson's layup made it 8-2.

Then, with a 16-9 advantage, Iverson's two free throws ignited a 9-0 Sixers' run that was capped by Iguodala's breakaway dunk with just over a minute to play.

Maggette scored the last four points of the first quarter and the Clippers outscored Philadelphia 25-18 to cut their deficit down to five, 43-38, at the break.

LA then edged the Sixers 23-22 in the third quarter to make it a 65-61 game heading into the final quarter.

Game Notes

Dalembert finished the game with 14 points, while Iguodala had 13 points to go along with five rebound and five assists...LA outrebounded Philadelphia 49-33...Korver and Green each ended the game with 11 points for the Sixers.
