Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Willie Green scored 30 points and Andre
Iguodala poured in 26 as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks,
Kyle Korver scored 17 for the 76ers, playing in their first game since waiving
Chris Webber on Thursday. Philadelphia bought out the remaining two years of
Webber's contract, making the veteran forward a free agent once he clears
Sam Dalembert scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Philadelphia,
which snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. Andre Miller added 11
points and 11 assists for the Sixers.
Charlie Bell scored 26 points for the Bucks, who have now dropped five
straight. Andrew Bogut scored 20 points and pulled down 24 rebounds for
Milwaukee, and newly acquired Earl Boykins scored 11 points and doled out 11
assists in his first game as a Buck.
A Bell jumper pulled the Bucks to within 86-85 with 9:35 left in the game.
Philadelphia put the game away with an 18-5 run, however, capped with an
amazing off-balance three-pointer that Iguodala hit while falling out of
bounds in the corner. Iguodala was fouled on the shot, and sunk the free throw
to complete the four-point play, giving Philadelphia a comfortable 104-90
advantage with just under four minutes remaining.
A three-point play by Patterson gave Milwaukee a slim 72-71 lead with just
over four minutes left in the third quarter, but the Sixers closed the stanza
strong in response. A Korver three and two Alan Henderson free throws closed a
13-3 Philadelphia run, giving Philly an 84-74 lead with 1:08 left.
Milwaukee cut the lead to 84-78 entering the final 12 minutes.
Milwaukee took advantage of a slow start for Sixers, running up a 18-4 lead in
the game's first seven minutes. Green and his teammates heated up, though,
closing the gap to 25-21 by the end of the quarter.
Milwaukee upped its lead to 54-46 by the end of the first half.
The Bucks continued to play without leading scorer Michael Redd and second-
leading scorer Maurice Williams. Redd will miss four to six weeks with a right
knee injury, and Williams will be out two to three weeks with a shoulder
sprain...Bogut set a new career high with his 24 boards...Green's 30 points
were a season-high, two short of his career-high 32, which he set last year
