Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Carlos Boozer had 27 points and 14
rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz to a 98-87 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers
at EnergySolutions Arena.
Mehmet Okur added 21 points and grabbed seven boards while Matt Harpring
netted 20 on 10-of-14 shooting for Utah, which has won two straight and four
of its last five games. Derek Fisher scored 12 in the win.
Andre Miller posted a team-high 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists and
Andre Iguodala donated 16 points for the 76ers, who have lost two of their
last three contests. Joe Smith chipped in 13 points and pulled down six boards
in the setback.
Trailing 58-52, the Jazz reeled off a 24-10 run to finish the third quarter. A
pair of Boozer free throws began the rally and his jumper knotted the game at
60. Four straight points from Okur gave Utah a 74-68 advantage and Harpring's
layup as time expired put the Jazz up 76-68 heading into the final frame.
Iguodala's turnaround jumper narrowed the gap to 78-72, but Utah responded
with an 11-2 surge, including seven points from Boozer, pushing the lead to
89-74 with under five minutes to play.
Philadelphia countered with an 11-4 burst, highlighted by Miller's three,
cutting the deficit to 93-85 with almost 1 1/2 minutes left, but that was as
close as it would get.
The 76ers led 24-22 after the opening 12 minutes of play, and extended the
margin to 45-41 at the break.
The 76ers shot 49 percent from the floor, while Utah connected on 43 percent
of its shots from the field...Utah's Deron Williams finished with seven points
and 14 assists...The Jazz have won three straight meetings...Philadelphia's
Kyle Korver ended with 10 points.
