Roy, Aldridge shine as Blazers blast Pacers

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Brandon Roy posted 22 points and LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 19 points and seven rebounds, as the Trail Blazers rolled to a 102-79 drubbing of the Pacers at the Rose Garden.

Rudy Fernandez came off the bench and made five three-pointers for a 16-point showing for Portland, which was coming off a successful 4-1 road trip. Andre Miller and Jerryd Bayless donated 12 and 10 points, respectively, in the win.

"This [was] a tough game to play after being on the road for so long and having success...it felt like another road game," Portland head coach Nate McMillan said. "I thought our guys were business right from the start."

Danny Granger was the only scoring threat for Indiana, hitting for 30 in the club's fifth loss in six games.

Portland scored nine of the final 11 points of the first quarter, as Fernandez hit a late three to give the hosts a 32-26 lead.

Fernandez hit another from long range to start the second, igniting a 13-3 run, which was capped by a Juwan Howard jumper for a 45-29 cushion with 7 1/2 minutes left.

It was 53-41 at halftime, and the differential reached 20, 79-59, on a late Fernandez three-pointer in the third.

The Pacers never seriously cut into the 79-62 deficit they had going into the final stanza.

"I think they are a heck of a defensive team," Pacers head coach Jim O'Brien said. "I think they took us out of a lot of our plays. We had a difficult time getting the ball into the low post."
