Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter was not very sharp during Sunday's loss to the Mets.
Insight: He allowed five runs on nine hits and one walk over six innings of work. Collmenter struck out one and is now 3-6 with a 5.24 ERA. Leave him on the wire.
5/6/2015 5:59:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter allowed five runs Wednesday versus Colorado.
Insight: He allowed the five runs on 10 hits, while striking out five over seven innings of work. Collmenter now has a 3.40 ERA this season.
9/28/2014 6:37:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter pitches well in loss.
Insight: He went eight strong innings, allowing only one run on three hits, while striking out three. Collmenter finishes his year at 11-9 with a 3.46 ERA.
8/23/2014 10:26:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter took a shutout into the ninth inning Friday night against San Diego and allowed one unearned run on four hits in 8 1/3 innings to improve to 9-7.
Insight: Collmenter struck out eight and didn't walk a batter. He had gone 0-2 with an 8.50 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP in his previous four starts and has a 4.05 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP and 97 Ks on the year. He's an NL-only option at best.
7/20/2014 7:33:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter allowed one run on four hits in seven innings Sunday to improve to 8-5.
Insight: Collmenter has given up one run in four of his last five starts. The right-hander has a 3.64 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP but just 69 Ks in 111 1/3 innings.
7/9/2014 7:11:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter held the Marlins to one run on seven hits in seven innings Wednesday.
Insight: Collmenter struck out six batters Wednesday, but he has just 65 Ks in 104 1/3 innings this season. So while he has a solid ERA and WHIP (3.80, 1.27) his fantasy value is extremely limited.
5/30/2014 6:27:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks starter Josh Collmenter threw a three-hit shutout Thursday against the Reds.
Insight: Collmenter pitched to the minimum 27 batters in the game, walking none and getting three double plays. He's gone 4-2 with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP in 54 innings since he joined the starting lineup.
4/9/2014 9:13:00 PM
Description: According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, the Diamondbacks are preparing Josh Collmenter to move into the rotation.
Insight: D'Backs manager Kirk Gibson mentioned Trevor Cahill and Randall Delgado as possibilities to move to the bullpen, though he said both will make their next scheduled starts. Collmenter is 13-12 with a 4.03 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP and 137 Ks in 196 2/3 career innings as a starter, compared to 7-6 with a 2.56 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP and 129 Ks in 144 innings in relief. Eventually, prospect Archie Bradley will take that available spot in the Arizona rotation, so Collmenter is only an option in NL-only leagues.
6/10/2013 10:00:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks righty Josh Collmenter is expected to take over for Tyler Skaggs in the starting rotation. SOURCE: Nick Piecoro, AZCentral.com
Insight: Skaggs was sent down to Triple-A after a rocky outing on Sunday. The earliest the D'Backs would need Collmenter to pitch is June 18th against the Marlins.
8/10/2012 8:49:00 PM
Description: Arizona righthander Josh Collmenter has been moved to the 15-day DL because of ulcers.
Insight: Collmenter (3-3, 4.24 ERA) was removed from the starting rotation earlier in the month anyway so his absence probably isn't going to have a huge effect on any fantasy teams.
7/22/2012 8:13:00 PM
Description: Though he made a strong bid for the title of "worst pitcher in baseball" in April, Arizona's Josh Collmenter has been excellent since, including a win over Houston Sunday.
Insight: Collmenter held the Astros to two runs on seven hits in six innings Sunday. Since April ended, the right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.51 ERA and a 45/11 K/BB in 47 2/3 innings over 15 appearances (four starts). He's made three starts this month, going six innings and allowing two runs or less in all of them.
7/13/2012 7:21:00 PM
Description: Arizona's Josh Collmenter has been dropped from the starting rotation in favor of rookie righthander Trevor Bauer.
Insight: Collmenter enjoyed some success as a starter last year (9-10, 3.59 ERA in 24 starts) but unfortunately for fantasy owners, that success hasn't carried over into the 2012 campaign. He's just 1-2 with a 6.03 ERA in seven starts this season.
7/1/2012 6:12:00 PM
Description: Arizona right-hander Josh Collmenter put together easily his best start of the season Sunday against Milwaukee. Collmenter, who was starting in place of the injured Daniel Hudson, held the Brewers to one run on three hits in six innings in a no decision. He walked none and struck out five.
Insight: Though Collmenter is not guaranteed to keep his spot in the rotation, he certainly didn't hurt his chances of making a few more starts.
4/28/2012 10:34:00 PM
Description: Josh Collmenter has lost his spot in Arizona's starting rotation and will be moved to the bullpen.
Insight: 22-year-old Patrick Corbin will start for the Diamondbacks on Monday, which would have been Collmenter's scheduled day to pitch.
4/27/2012 9:07:00 PM
Description: Josh Collmenter could be one bad start away from his losing his spot in Arizona's rotation.
Insight: Collmenter threw off some hitters with his unorthodox delivery last season (10-10, 3.38 ERA), but it seems like the National League is beginning to catch on in 2012. Collmenter sports an 0-2 record with a 9.82 ERA so far this season and Monday's scheduled start against the Marlins could be his last chance to remain a starter.
Cold4/4/2012 3:32:00 PM
Description: Josh Collmenter got hammered again on friday and his spring ERA climbed to 11.81.
Insight: Collmenter had a nice rookie campaign (10-10, 3.38 ERA, 1.069 WHIP), in particular before the All-Star break, when he posted a 2.92 ERA and a WHIP of 1.000. Based on this spring, you can't expect similar production. As a low strikeout guy (5.8-per nine innings), he's got little fantasy value.
