Description: New York outfielder Chris Young blasted two homers Tuesday in a win against Oakland.
Insight: Tuesday was Young's first multi-home run game since April 24, 2013. Ironically, that came as a member of the Oakland Athletics. Don't read too much into tonight's game as Young is only having a so-so year (.209, 6 HR, 19 RBI in 59 games).

Description: Mets outfielder Chris Young won't be available for Saturday's game against Miami. SOURCE: ESPN New York
Insight: He's feeling a bit under the weather. Eric Young Jr. will start in left with Curtis Granderson getting the nod in center field. Young hasn't done anything to make himself even remotely relevant this season (.182, 1 HR, 3 RBI in nine games) so this news is unlikely to affect many fantasy teams.

4/18/2014 7:29:00 PM
Description: The Mets have activated center fielder Chris Young from the 15-day disabled list.
Insight: He's been out with a quad injury. Young does have a 30 HR season to his credit but that came all the way back in 2007. Nowadays, fantasy owners don't have much use for the free-swinging veteran.

4/10/2014 8:15:00 PM
Description: Mets outfielder Chris Young (quad) played in an extended spring training game on Thursday and will play another one Friday, according to Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News.
Insight: Young missed Opening Day and didn't even get an at-bat in the second game of the season before he had to leave with a quad strain. If he gets through Friday's extended spring training game he'll probably move on to a minor league rehab assignment.

Description: Mets outfielder Chris Young left Wednesday's game due to a right quad strain and has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Description: Outfielder Chris Young will not start for the Mets on Opening Day. SOURCE: Anthony DiComo, MLB.com
Insight: He's out with a strained quad. Andrew Brown is filling in at left field. Given the nature of his injury, Young (.200, 12 HR, 40 RBI for Oakland last season) could spend time on the disabled list.

11/22/2013 10:07:00 AM
Description: Outfielder Chris Young has signed a one-year, $7.25 million deal with the Mets, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Insight: Young has three 20-20 seasons on his resume, but none since 2011. He batted .200 with 12 HR and 40 RBI in 2013. Fantasy owners won't like his 93 Ks in 335 at-bats last season.

8/13/2013 11:34:00 AM
Description: Oakland outfielder Chris Young homered on Monday and should get another chance to start Tuesday (Coco Crisp injury) as he's got a favorable matchup against Houston's Jordan Lyles.
Insight: He's batting an ugly .196 this season, but might be worth a flier as he's 5-for-9 (.556) against Lyles.

Cold6/20/2013 10:17:00 AM
Description: Oakland outfielder Chris Young is had a big night on Wednesday, but his Thursday matchup should be avoided. He's hitless in six at-bats with four strikeouts.
Insight: He's batting an ugly .192 this season even after yesterday's two-hit game and this is a bad matchup. Avoid.

Cold6/10/2013 11:33:00 AM
Description: Oakland outfielder Chris Young is probable for Tuesday's game against the NY Yankees after dealing with flu-like conditions.
Insight: Now if he can just get over his sickly swing as quickly. He's batting an ugly .174 this season and .100 over the past two weeks, which should be enough to convince all fantasy owners to look elsewhere for outfielder help.

Cold6/1/2013 9:53:00 PM
Description: Oakland outfielder Chris Young went 3-for-6 Saturday to snap a 0-for-17 slump.
Insight: Young's slide dropped his average from .207 to .180. It's back up to .194 after Saturday's game, but he still shouldn't be owned.

Hot5/27/2013 9:37:00 AM
Description: Oakland center fielder Chris Young is a career .500 hitter (7-for-14) versus Giants starter Madison Bumgarner.
Insight: Young went 6-for-15 in the last series against Houston and now has a favorable matchup making him a viable fantasy option for one day.

5/18/2013 4:29:00 PM

Insight: Young was expected to return before Coco Crisp, but his comeback was delayed by a setback. Josh Reddick is still out, so Young will serve as the starter in right field.

Description: Oakland center fielder Chris Young will be back with the team Wednesday but likely won't be activated until Friday, according to Jane Lee of MLB.com.

Description: A's outfielder Chris Young (quad) is expected to go on a rehab assignment at some point over the next three days, according to John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group.
Insight: With Coco Crisp (hamstring) also on the DL, Young's injury prevented him from being the everyday center fielder. He's likely to return ahead of Crisp, but Crisp won't be too far behind.

5/4/2013 4:26:00 PM
Description: The Athletics have placed Chris Young on the DL with a strained left quad.
Insight: The injury has come at an inopportune time for Young since center fielder Coco Crisp (hamstring) is also on the DL. Young is hiting .172 with four homers, 15 RBI, 12 runs and five steals in 87 at-bats this season.
