Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada threw six innings, struck out six and allowed two runs to beat the Phillies Thursday.
Insight: Estrada (1-0, 2.31 ERA, 12/5 K/BB) owns a 3.35 ERA in 201 1/3 career innings after the All-Star break compared to a 4.89 ERA in 200 2/3 innings before the break, so it's good to see him get off to a good start.

Insight: Estrada (7-4, 4.02 ERA) allowed just two hits in seven shutout innings. He'll make his final start of the season Sunday against New York.

Hot8/25/2013 7:55:00 PM

8/8/2013 9:55:00 AM
Description: Milwaukee righthander Marco Estrada looked sharp in his return from the DL on Wednesday.
Insight: Estrada, who was on a pitch count, allowed only one hit in five shutout frames, beating the Giants for his fourth win of the season. He's scheduled to start next Tuesday's game against Texas.

Description: Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada (hamstring, back) has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Insight: Estrada has been on the disabled list since early June due to a strained left hamstring and has been delayed several times by a back issue. He was 4-4 with a 5.32 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP in 69 1/3 innings prior to his injury after going 5-7 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP in 138 1/3 frames last year and can be avoided for now outside NL-only formats.

Description: Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada (hamstring, back) will come off the DL to start Wednesday against the Giants.

7/14/2013 3:36:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada's bullpen session has been canceled three days in a row due to back tightness, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Insight: Estrada is on the DL with a strained hamstring, but his back has been giving him trouble. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Saturday that Estrada is three weeks away from returning in a best-case scenario.

6/25/2013 5:19:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada (hamstring) had a minor setback in his rehab outing Sunday and likely will need extra time, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Insight: Estrada hasn't pitched since June 3 due to a strained left hamstring. He's just 4-4 with a 5.32 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP this season after going 5-7 with a 3.65 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP last season.

6/4/2013 7:22:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada suffered a strained left hamstring Monday and is expected to miss at least one start, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Insight: A disabled list stint hasn't been ruled out. Mike Fiers could be an option to make a start Saturday, but Fiers has a 7.25 ERA this season and allowed seven runs (five earned) in 1 2/3 innings Sunday at Philadelphia.

5/24/2013 10:57:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada tossed seven innings and allowed one run on four hits Friday against Pittsburgh. He didn't walk a batter and struck out eight.
Insight: Estrada allowed three hits and one earned in seven innings at Pittsburgh on May 13, but he followed it up by giving up seven hits and four runs at St. Louis his last time on the hill. We need to see the right-hander do it two times in a row before we can trust him again.

5/19/2013 11:24:00 AM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada had another lackluster start Saturday against the Cardinals, giving up seven hits and four runs and walking four in 5 2/3 innings.
Insight: Estrada briefly stopped his slide with a strong start at Pittsburgh, but he is now 3-2 with a 5.44 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. He has walked four or more batters twice in his last three turns. The righty didn't walk more than three batters in any start last year.

5/13/2013 10:42:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee righthander Marco Estrada looked sharp Monday in a win over Pittsburgh.
Insight: He gave up just three hits and one run over seven innings. Estrada's next start is Saturday against St. Louis.

5/10/2013 5:31:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada will have his next start pushed back from Saturday at Cincinnati to Monday at Pittsburgh, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy.
Insight: Estrada has allowed 13 hits, 13 earned runs and walked six batters over his last two starts, and given up 11 homers in 38 2/3 innings this season. He had a strong 2012 (3.64 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 143/29 K/BB), but he shouldn't be started until he shows improvement.

4/14/2013 8:38:00 PM
Description: Brewers starter Marco Estrada allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings Sunday against the Cardinals. He struck out seven and walked one.
Insight: Estrada is an underrated fantasy arm. He had a 3.64 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 143/29 K/BB in 138 1/3 innings last year, and he has a 21/2 K/BB in 18 innings this season.

9/29/2012 10:26:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada bounced back from a rough outing Monday to pitch eight shutout innings Saturday night in a 9-5 win over the Astros.
Insight: Somehow, the Brewers' bullpen let in five runs in the last inning, but they were still able to hold on for the win. Estrada (5-7, 3.64 ERA) has now held opponents scoreless in three out of his last four starts, the exception being a seven-run meltdown in only four innings earlier this week against the Nationals.

Description: Brewers righthander Marco Estrada dominated the Pirates over seven shutout innings Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.

6/26/2012 9:43:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada struck out 12 Reds in six innings in his return to the Brewers rotation Tuesday. Estrada missed a month with a strained quad.
Insight: Estrada allowed three runs on five hits and walked two in a no decision. The right-hander has a 9.9 K/9 and a 46/9 K/BB ratio in 42 innings this season.

5/24/2012 5:15:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada (quad) will miss 3-4 starts, Brewers GM Doug Melvin said.
Insight: Estrada strained his right quadriceps on Wednesday while he was running the bases during a two-run double. The right-hander has been a nice add for those seeking K/9 and WHIP help in NL-only leagues this season. Unfortunately, this is the risk associated with owning National League hurlers -- with no designated hitter, the opportunity to get injured doubles.

5/23/2012 1:55:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee pitcher Marco Estrada was forced to leave the game in the bottom of the first after limping into second base with a two-run double.
Insight: Estrada will lose out on what would likely be a win after the Brewers posted a six-spot in the first inning. Manny Parra replaced him.

4/21/2012 10:31:00 PM
Description: Marco Estrada struck out nine Rockies while giving up one run on two hits in five innings in his first start of the season on Saturday.
Insight: Estrada is filling in with Chris Narveson on the DL. Keep an eye on him in NL-only leagues.
