Description: Red Sox rookie Brandon Workman is starting in place of Jon Lester tonight against the Rays.

Description: In his first major league start, Red Sox rookie Brandon Workman didn't allow a hit until the seventh inning.
Insight: Coco Crisp finally broke up the no-no with an infield single to lead off the seventh. Josh Donaldson smacked a two-run homer later in the inning to force Workman out of the game. Regardless of the end result (the A's won 3-2 in extra innings), it was a very impressive debut for the 24-year-old. Look for him to stay in the rotation for another couple of turns while Clay Buchholz rehabs in the minor leagues.
