Description: Yankees second baseman Brian Roberts has gone 16-for-51 (.314) with six doubles, a triple and two homers in his last 13 games.
Insight: Roberts went 4-for-5 with three doubles, a triple, one RBI and two runs Friday at Minnesota. He's still hitting just .248 with a .702 OPS this year, however.

Description: Yankees second baseman Brian Roberts' MRI came back negative and he is questionable for Thursday's game against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Roberts hasn't played since Saturday due to a back injury. The 36-year-old is hitting just .129 with one RBI this season and shouldn't be owned in most leagues.

Description: Yanees second baseman Brian Roberts' MRI came back negative and he'll be reevaluated in a few days. SOURCE: Jeff Roberts, Bergen Record.
Insight: Roberts missed Sunday's game with a back injury. The 36-year-old is hitting just .129 with one RBI this season and shouldn't be owned in most leagues.

4/10/2014 3:53:00 PM
Description: Yanees 2B Brian Roberts will get Thursday night off with Dean Anna batting ninth as his replacement.
Insight: Roberts can use the day off as he's batting just .160 for the first nine games. Anna isn't any better with one hit in seven at bats, though he did bat .331 at Triple-A Tucson last season.

Description: Brian Roberts will be New York's Opening Day second baseman. SOURCE: Andrew Marchand, ESPN New York
Insight: Pretty exciting isn't it? Well not really. Sure there was a time when Roberts was a fantasy-worthy second baseman but we'd need a time machine to go back to it. Keep in mind, Roberts hasn't produced a .300 batting average since 2005. Even at pint-sized Yankee Stadium it's doubtful Roberts will hit enough homers to be in the fantasy coversation.

Description: Second baseman Brian Roberts has agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal with the Yankees. SOURCE: Jon Paul Morosi, Fox Sports
Insight: At best, the injury-prone second baseman will share time with Kelly Johnson. At one time he was a .280 hitter who could produce 100 runs and 30-40 stolen bases, but that was at least five years ago. Today, he's a .250 hitter with no speed or pop. Even if he's healthy, fantasy owners should look elsewhere.

Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts will have the day off on Saturday. SOURCE: Dan Connolly, Baltimore Sun
Insight: The veteran went 2-for-6 in last night's 18-inning loss to Tampa Bay. Alexi Casilla (.220, 1 HR, 10 RBI) will make the start in Roberts' absence.

8/5/2013 12:01:00 PM
Description: Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts is expected to return from paternity leave in time for Tuesday's game against San Diego
Insight: The injury-prone veteran has played in just 118 games since the start of 2010, but was a solid fantasy option at second base from 2003-09. He's again been plagued by injuries this season and has played just 30 games to date, so fantasy owners have been slow to trust him in their lineup.

6/29/2013 12:25:00 PM
Description: Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday, according to a MASN.com report.
Insight: Roberts had right hamstring surgery and hasn't played since early April. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Roberts will be the everyday second baseman when he returns. The injury-prone veteran has played in just 118 games since the start of 2010, but will be an upgrade over Alexi Casilla if he can stay on the field.

6/27/2013 4:30:00 PM
Description: Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup this week against the Yankees, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.
Insight: Roberts had right hamstring surgery and hasn't played since early April. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Roberts will be the regular second baseman when he returns. The injury-prone veteran has played just 118 total games since the start of 2010.

6/21/2013 6:31:00 PM
Description: Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Norfolk, according to Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun.
Insight: Roberts is on the way back from right hamstring surgery. He has played just three games this season and 118 combined over the last four years due to a litany of injuries.

Description: Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts is set to have surgery on his injured hamstring. SOURCE: Roch Kubatko, MASN
Insight: The procedure will take place on Thursday. He could be out until the All-Star break.

5/7/2013 5:50:00 PM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts (knee) will have his injured knee examined on Wednesday in Dallas, according to Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.
Insight: Roberts ruptured a tendon in his right knee on April 4 and it is not progressing as he hoped.

4/5/2013 2:38:00 PM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts has been placed on the 15-day DL with a ruptured tendon in his right knee.
Insight: No surgery is needed but he could miss up to a month. In a corresponding move the Orioles recalled INF/OF Yamaico Navarro from Triple-A Norfolk, but Alexi Casilla figures to get most of the playing time at second and his fantasy value is minimal. He's a career .250 hitter with 11 homers and 71 SB in six seasons with Minnesota.

4/5/2013 10:45:00 AM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts will miss Friday's game against Minnesota with a strained righht hamstring.
Insight: Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said after the game that Roberts "felt something at the bottom of the hamstring" and added that the team would know more on Friday. In the mean time, plan on being without the injury-prone second baseman for a while.

4/4/2013 6:27:00 PM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts left Thursday's game with a right knee injury.
Insight: Roberts slid headfirst into second base and grabbed his knee when he stood up. Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said after the game that Roberts "felt something at the bottom of the hamstring" and added that the team would know more on Friday. He sounded resigned to being without Roberts for awhile.

1/17/2013 6:46:00 PM
Description: Dan Connolly from the Baltimore Sun reports that second baseman Brian Roberts underwent sports hernia surgery last month.
Insight: Roberts has had so many surgeries it's getting hard to keep track of them all. It would be a small miracle if he's able to play 100 games this season.

7/29/2012 3:42:00 PM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts has elected to have season-ending surgery on his injured right hip. Roberts will need 4-6 weeks to recover from the surgery and the hope is that he'll be 100 percent before Spring Training next February.
Insight: With Roberts (.182, 0 HRs, 5 RBIs) done for the season, Robert Andino (.230, 5 HRs, 21 RBIs) will see most of the reps at second base when he returns from the DL later this week.

7/6/2012 9:27:00 PM
Description: An MRI revealed that Baltimore second baseman Brian Roberts has a torn muscle in his right hip.
Insight: Despite having a few productive seasons earlier in his career, Roberts (.182, 0 HRs, 5 RBIs) is just too-injury prone to take a chance on in fantasy anymore. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Roberts' backup Robert Andino (.233, 4 HRs, 19 RBIs) has never been a consistent fantasy contributor.

7/3/2012 10:04:00 PM
Description: Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts is headed to the DL. Roberts will need some time to recover from a strained right groin.
Insight: Roberts' injury could open the door for Robert Andino (.227, 3 HRs, 17 RBIs) to become fantasy relevant again.
