Description: Cardinals center fielder Jon Jay is eligible to come off the DL Tuesday, but according to manager Mike Matheny he may go out on a rehab assignment first per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: It's likely a combination of Jay needing to get his timing right and peter Bourjos and Randal Grichuk doing a decent job as his replacement.

Insight: Jay has struggled late, but he remained in the lineup on Monday evern against a left-handed pitcher although Jay has hit better against lefties than righties this year. He is hitting .306 with 22 extra-base hits and 44 RBI.

Insight: Cueto's credentials haven't fazed Jay. He's gone 10-for-21 (.476) with a double and three homers against the right-hander. He's a nice low-cost outfield option Wednesday.

Insight: Jay has missed time with a sore left wrist and may not be on the field to take advantage of this favorable matchup, but if he's in the lineup you have to seriously consider starting him. For the season he's batting .289 with a .714 OPS.

Insight: It's only his third three-hit game of the season. Jay is hitting .292 for the season but it's hard to own him in fantasy while he's stuck in a timeshare with Peter Bourjos (.227, 1 HR, 7 RBI) in center field.

Insight: Jay took over in right field Wednesday after Carlos Beltran hurt his rib robbing David Ortiz of a grand slam in the second inning. So far, he's struggled to a .194 batting average in 36 postseason at bats.
