Description: Chad Tracy injured his groin Saturday against Atlanta and could be placed on the disabled list. The Nationals are expected to make a decision on Tracy in the next 24 hours.
Insight: Tracy (.265, 3 HRs, 12 RBIs) isn't an everyday player anyways so his injury should have little bearing on the fantasy world.
5/5/2012 4:05:00 PM
Description: Chad Tracy batted fifth on Saturday, going 3-for-4 with a two-run blast in the seventh inning against the Cubs.
Insight: Tracy has a homer in each of the last two games in place of the injured Adam Laroche (oblique). Laroche is expected to return early next week so Tracy's value is nothing more than short term.
7/1/2010 11:41:00 PM
Description: The Cubs have released Tracy.
Insight: Tracy was designated for assignment last week, and opted to become a free agent rather than stay in the Cubs' organization. (SportsBuff.com)
6/25/2010 3:40:00 PM
Description: Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun Times reports the Cubs have designated Tracy for assignment.
Insight: This move makes room on the Cubs' roster for the return of 3B Aramis Ramirez (left thumb). Tracy started out the season at Triple-A, and is likely to accept the assignment if he passes through waivers. (SportsBuff.com)
6/9/2010 1:06:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Tribune reports the Cubs will likely recall Tracy on Wednesday.
Insight: With Aramis Ramirez (thumb) looking likely to be headed to the DL, Tracy would provide some infield depth. He is hitting .396 in 91 at-bats for Triple-A Iowa. (SportsBuff.com)
5/7/2010 4:40:00 PM
Description: Tracy has been sent down to Triple-A Iowa. (ESPN 1000-Chicago)
Insight: Tracy was sent down to make room for SS Starlin Castro. He may be back with the Cubs at some point if injuries become an issue. (SportsBuff.com)
3/31/2010 10:24:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Tribune reports Tracy has been awarded the final spot on the Cubs' roster.
Insight: Tuesday's release of Kevin Millar opened the door for Tracy to be a backup corner infielder for the Cubs. Barring injuries, he is not worth fantasy consideration. (SportsBuff.com)
1/27/2010 8:30:00 AM
Description: The Cubs signed Tracy to a minor league contract on Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.
Insight: Tracy has not had a healthy season since 2006 but can certainly provide some pop off the bench for the Cubs if he makes the team. (SportsBuff.com)
1/24/2010 10:20:00 AM
Description: According to the New York Daily News, the Mets have expressed interest in signing Tracy.
Insight: Tracy has been injury prone the past few seasons and hit only .237 with eight home runs and 39 RBI in 98 games with the Diamondbacks last season. (SportsBuff.com)
Hot4/6/2009 10:10:00 PM
Description: Tracy, who says he's finally healthy after a long recovery from major knee surgery, was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Arizona in its 9-8 win over the Colorado Rockies on Monday.
Insight: More importantly, manager Bob Melvin opted to start Tracy instead of Mark Reynolds. Keep an eye on this apparent platoon. As long as Tracy continues to produce, it might not be much of one for long. (SportsBuff.com)
