Hot5/17/2013 6:46:00 PM
Description: Mariners right fielder Michael Morse has been scratched from Friday night's starting lineup.
Insight: He's dealing with eye irritation. Morse has gone 9-for-17 over his last four games to raise his average from .220 to .261. Endy Chavez (.284, 0 HR, 4 RBI) will draw the start in right field.

4/28/2013 8:20:00 PM
Description: Seattle left fielder Mike Morse homered Sunday for the first time since suffering a non-displaced pinky fracture nearly three weeks ago.
Insight: Morse led the majors in spring homers and hit six in his first nine games this year, but he has been struggling mightily since returning to action on April 16.

4/25/2013 8:00:00 PM
Description: Seattle left fielder Mike Morse will have the night off Thursday against Los Angeles.
Insight: It's just a maintenance day for the big outfielder. Light-hitting Jason Bay (.184, 1 HR, 3 RBI) is taking his place in left field.

4/16/2013 5:55:00 PM
Description: Mariners left fielder Mike Morse will return to the starting lineup Tuesday against Detroit, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.
Insight: Morse sustained a small fracture in his right pinky finger Friday and was given a 3-7 day timetable. Morse has six homers in 41 at-bats after leading the majors in home runs during spring training.

4/12/2013 5:16:00 PM
Description: Mariners left fielder Mike Morse will miss 3-7 days due to a fractured right pinky finger, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com.
Insight: That puts a damper on Morse's big start. He has six homers, nine RBIs and a .293 average after leading the MLB in homers during spring training.

4/7/2013 8:42:00 PM
Description: Mariners left fielder Mike Morse struck out four times Sunday against Chicago but he also hit his league-leading fifth homer of the season.
Insight: Clearly, Morse is swinging for the fences. Five of his nine hits this year have left the stadium and ten of the 20 outs he's made have come by way of the K. Continue to expect big power numbers from Morse but don't be surprised if his batting average begins to slip a little bit.

Hot4/4/2013 8:00:00 PM
Description: Seattle outfielder Michael Morse has picked up where he left off in spring by crushing four homers in his first four games this season.
Insight: Morse knocked nine out of the park during spring training. It sure looks like he is elevating the ball again after his flyball percentage dipped from 36.5 percent in 2011 to 24.6 percent last season.

3/27/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: After going deep Wednesday, Seattle outfielder Michael Morse now has eight homers this spring.
Insight: Morse hit .303 with 31 homers for Washington in 2011 but a lat strain limited him to 102 games last season. He also saw his groundball rate spike from 44 percent to 55.3 percent, which explains why he was limited to 18 homers. Fantasy owners shouldn't be scared off by Safeco Field; the Mariners moved in the fences in left and left-center field and Morse has big-time power anyway. The eight spring homers are a sign that he is elevating the ball again.

1/16/2013 8:19:00 PM
Description: Outfielder/first baseman Michael Morse was traded to Seattle Wednesday as part of a three-team swap.
Insight: Morse spent the first four seasons of his career with the Mariners so he's familiar with Safeco Field. He still has the talent to hit for 30 home runs but the lack of protection he'll receive from the Mariners' lineup could hinder his fantasy value.

1/11/2013 8:13:00 PM
Description: If the Mike Napoli deal falls through, the Red Sox are likely to go after Nationals outfielder/first baseman Mike Morse. SOURCE: Fox Sports
Insight: The Nationals have been actively shopping Morse since Adam LaRoche re-signed earlier in the week. Morse would mostly play first base if he went to the Red Sox. Morse is 1-for-12 (.083) in three career games at Fenway Park.

1/9/2013 5:16:00 PM
Description: Nationals outfielder/first baseman Michael Morse isn't interested in being a DH, reports Fox's Ken Rosenthal.
Insight: Morse is a solid hitter (.291, 18 HR, 62 RBI) but with first baseman Adam LaRoche coming back for two more seasons, there's just no place for him in Washington anymore. Expect Morse to be traded before the start of the season.

1/8/2013 2:56:00 PM
Description: Following the signing of Adam LaRoche, the Washington Nationals appear to be ready to trade outfielder/1B Michael Morse.
Insight: Morse (.291, 18 HRs, 62 RBIs) has plenty of power but the team has no guaranteed spot to give him at-bats. He is apparently being sought after by five or six teams including the Yankees.

10/8/2012 10:38:00 AM
Description: Washington left fielder Michael Morse is 4-for-9 (.444) against Cardinals lefty Jaime Garcia.
Insight: Morse (.291, 18 HRs, 62 RBIs) was 1-for-4 in the series opener and figures to get another start in Game 2.

9/27/2012 11:09:00 PM

9/25/2012 4:47:00 PM

Description: Washington left fielder Michael Morse is back in the lineup Tuesday for the first time since last week.

9/14/2012 4:59:00 PM
Description: Washington left fielder Michael Morse is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta due to a bone bruise in his left wrist.

9/4/2012 4:38:00 PM
Description: Washington left fielder Michael Morse (thumb) is in the lineup Tuesday.
Insight: Morse left Monday's game with soreness in his right thumb, but it doesn't appear to be a big concern.
