Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers have outrighted the contract of left-handed pitcher Fu-Te Ni to Triple-A Toledo.
Ni is the first native of Taiwan to appear at the major league level for the Tigers. He pitched 58 games for the club, posting a record of 0-1 with an earned run average of 4.33 over two seasons.
In 2010, Ni was 0-1 with a 6.65 ERA in 22 appearances for the Tigers. He also had 12 outings with the Mud Hens, compiling a 7.50 ERA.
With Ni headed to Toledo, the Tigers now have 39 players on the club's 40-man roster.
