Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Hector Luna had two hits and knocked in three runs to help the Philadelphia Phillies take a 6-4 decision over the Miami Marlins in the opener of a three-game set at Citizens Bank Park. Hunter Pence added three hits, including a two-run home run, and scored three times in the Phillies' seventh win in nine games. Kyle Kendrick (2-4) allowed two runs on eight hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. Jonathan Papelbon left the bases loaded in the eighth while recording the final five outs of the game for his 15th save of the season. Mark Buehrle (5-5) gave up four runs on 11 hits through a five-inning start to suffer the loss. Logan Morrison and Justin Ruggiano each homered for Miami, which had its three-game win streak snapped.

Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in Mets history Friday night as New York blanked the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-0. Santana struck out eight and walked five en route to the 275th no-hitter in Major League Baseball history. The no-no came in the 8,020th game for the Mets, who have been on the other side of a no-hitter six times in their 51 seasons. Santana (3-2) became the third pitcher this season to throw a no- hitter, joining Philip Humber of the White Sox and Jered Weaver of the Angels. Humber threw a perfect game April 21 against the Mariners, while Weaver no-hit the Twins May 2. The left-handed Venezuelan missed the entire 2011 season due to shoulder surgery. The last time the Cardinals were no-hit came June 29, 1990 when the Dodgers' Fernando Valenzuela accomplished the feat. Adam Wainwright (4-6) took the loss after giving up seven runs on six hits over 6 1/3 frames.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Mike Leake scattered four hits and gave up one run to guide the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros in the first of a three-game set at Minute Maid Park. Leake (2-5) struck out seven and walked just three over seven frames. Jay Bruce homered and had two RBI while Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips each drove in a run for the Reds, winners in four of their last six. Jed Lowrie went 1-for-2 with two walks and Carlos Lee had a hit for the Astros, who have lost seven in a row. Jose Altuve scored the lone run for Houston. J.A. Happ (4-5) was pegged with the loss after giving up three runs on five hits over seven innings.

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Jose Tabata highlighted a six-run third inning with a three-run double, as Pittsburgh beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-2, in the opener of a three-game series at Miller Park, a venue that has been anything but friendly to the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen also drove in three runs for the Pirates, who won for just the fifth time in 43 games at Milwaukee's home since the start of the 2007 season. The Pirates have won six of their last seven overall, moving above .500 (26-25) for the first time since they were 2-1 on April 8. Kevin Correia (2-5) ended a personal losing streak by limiting the Brewers to a pair of solo home runs in 5 2/3 innings. The right-hander had been 0-5 with a 5.13 earned run average in seven starts since earning a victory April 15 at San Francisco. Chris Nelson and Michael Cuddyer hit back-to-back homers in the eighth, while Cuddyer scored four times for the Rockies, who are on a season-high five-game winning streak. Josh Outman pitched 3 1/3 innings in the start and gave up just two hits. Adam Ottavino (1-0) got the first win of his career for pitching 1 2/3 innings without giving up a run. Alex Castellanos drove in a pair of runs for the Dodgers, who have lost a season-high five straight. Chris Capuano (7-2) was touched for seven runs -- four earned -- on seven hits with four walks over 5 1/3 innings.

Andrew Cashner (3-3) tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win. Clayton Richard started the game for San Diego and allowed one run on seven hits and a walk over 6 2/3 innings. Wade Miley (6-2) gave up four runs on six hits with no walks through 7 1/3 innings to take the loss. Paul Goldschmidt and Willie Bloomquist each had a pair of hits for Arizona, which lost for the third time in four games.

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Madison Bumgarner took a shutout into the ninth inning against the Chicago Cubs, and the San Francisco Giants survived a late offensive surge to hold on for a 4-3 win in the opener of a four-game series at AT&T Park. Bumgarner (6-4), winless in his previous four starts, gave up back-to-back singles to Starlin Castro and Joe Mather to begin the ninth. Santiago Casilla replaced the 22-year-old left-hander and surrendered a home run to Alfonso Soriano. Bumgarner was bidding for his first career complete game and shutout. A pinch-hitting Bryan LaHair then stroked a one-out double and Casilla appeared to injure himself fielding Darwin Barney's infield chopper. Javier Lopez took over on the mound and Steve Clevenger advanced both runners with a groundout to first. But Lopez earned his first save of the season by retiring pinch-hitter David DeJesus on fly ball to center field. Paul Maholm (4-4) gave up four runs on eight hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings for Chicago, which has dropped eight straight on the road.
Atlanta at Washington, postponed
Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Friday's game between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced. Stephen Strasburg (5-1) was scheduled to take the mound for the Nationals on Friday. He will now pitch against Atlanta's Brandon Beachy (5-3) on Saturday. Washington will send Gio Gonzalez (7-1) to the hill on Sunday. Atlanta will counter with Tommy Hanson (5-4).
