Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Bautista's first-inning homer stood up, as Drew Hutchison and Aaron Sanchez combined on a one-hit shutout to lift the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-0 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday at Rogers Centre. Hutchison (9-11) surrendered only a fourth-inning double to Mark Teixeira, walked two and hit a pair of batters. He also struck out nine before Sanchez retired all six men he faced to notch his first big league save. The Jays bounced back from Friday's 6-3 loss in the series opener and won for only the second time in their last six games. Michael Pineda (3-3) pitched six-plus solid innings for New York in the hard- luck loss. He allowed seven hits and both runs, and struck out three without issuing a walk.

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Dunn belted a two-run homer, Jose Abreu collected three hits with an RBI and the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 6-3 in the opener of a day-night doubleheader at U.S. Cellular Field. Chicago ace Chris Sale (11-3) gave up homers to two of the first four batters, but silenced Detroit through the rest of his seven-inning outing. The lefty gave up six hits overall, walked two and struck out a season-high 13. Jake Petricka earned his 10th save of the season after getting Ian Kinsler to ground into a game-ending double play. Max Scherzer (15-5) allowed six runs -- five earned -- on nine hits and fanned 11 with no walks in 6 2/3 innings for the Tigers.
