Marlins rally to sweep Mariners
Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to come back and sweep the Seattle Mariners with a 3-2 win on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series
Garrett Jones, Adeiny Hechavarria and Donovan Solano picked up an RBI apiece for the Marlins, who have won four of five.
Marlins starter Kevin Slowey gave up two runs on three hits through five innings of work, picking up three strikeouts. Mike Dunn (1-2) earned the win setting down the three batters he faced in the eighth.
Despite allowing a leadoff double and a walk, Steve Cishek worked out of a one-out jam with runners on the corners to pick up his third save of the season and 32 consecutive saves dating back to last season.
Corey Hart hit two doubles and Dustin Ackley and Justin Smoak each drove in a run for Seattle, which has dropped six straight and eight of nine.
Seattle starter Brandon Maurer hurled four hitless innings before surrendering a run on two hits in the fifth. Maurer fanned four, while walking two through 4 1/3 frames.
Tom Wilhelmsen (0-1) pitched one inning and allowed one run, while walking two and picking up his second blown save.
