Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Evan Gattis hit a grand slam and B.J. Upton had a solo homer as part of a five-run fourth inning that helped the Atlanta Braves down the slumping Minnesota Twins, 8-3, to complete a three-game interleague sweep at Turner Field. Ramiro Pena provided a solo shot, while Jason Heyward and Chris Johnson each had two hits and drove in a run for the Braves, who have won six straight. Atlanta has swept back-to-back three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Twins. Paul Maholm (6-4) tossed 7 1/3 innings and allowed one unearned run and seven hits with four strikeouts. Justin Morneau drove in one run and Aaron Hicks and Oswaldo Arcia each hit solo homers in the ninth for the Twins, losers of eight straight. Starter Vance Worley (1-5) allowed all eight runs on 10 hits over just 3 2/3 innings to absorb the loss.

Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - David Murphy and Adrian Beltre slugged first- inning homers to back a solid performance from Ross Wolf, and Texas clipped Oakland, 3-1, in the finale of a three-game set. Murphy's blast was a two-run shot and Beltre added a solo homer for the Rangers, who avoided a sweep at the hands of their division rivals. Recalled from Triple-A prior to the game for his first major league start, Wolf (1-0) gave up a run on three hits with three strikeouts and a pair of walks over five-plus innings. Brandon Moss drove in the lone run and Derek Norris added two hits for the Athletics, whose five-game win streak came to a halt. Jarrod Parker (2-6) was charged in defeat for six hits and three runs while fanning five in seven full frames.

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Jose Bautista homered twice and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays took two of three from the Tampa Bay Rays with a 4-3 win at the Rogers Centre. With Cesar Ramos (1-1) on the hill, Colby Rasmus singled to lead off the home half of the tenth and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Emilio Bonifacio. Three batters later, Bautista slapped an 0-2 Kyle Farnsworth offering into right field. Bautista went 4-for-4, drove in all four Toronto runs and clubbed his 10th and 11th home runs of the season, the latter of which forced extras in the bottom of the ninth after Loney's RBI single put Tampa ahead, 3-2, in the top half. Aaron Loup (2-3) pitched around a leadoff single in the top of the tenth to earn the win.

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Seattle Mariners are headed in opposite directions. C.J. Wilson tossed eight terrific innings and the Angels again broke out the bats in an easy 7-1 victory over the Mariners. Wilson (4-3) allowed just one run on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 to snap a personal three-start winless streak. Josh Hamilton and Alberto Callaspo each drove in a pair of runs, Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Mark Trumbo had three of the 12 hits for Los Angeles, which has scored 37 runs during a season-high four-game winning streak. The Mariners have dropped six in a row a disappointing nine-game road trip that began with them taking two of three from the New York Yankees. Brandon Maurer (2-6), who went to high school six miles from Angel Stadium, had a forgettable start against his hometown team. The 22-year-old rookie gave up seven runs on 11 hits before being pulled after three ineffective innings.

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Chris Davis went 4-for-4 and was one of three Baltimore players to homer as the Orioles slugged their way to a 6-3 win over the New York Yankees in the finale of a three-game series. Davis topped Nick Markakis' solo blast in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run shot later in the frame, while Matt Wieters tacked on a three-run homer later on to help Baltimore down its AL East rival for a second straight night after opening an eight-game homestand with six consecutive losses. Wieters, Adam Jones and Manny Machado each collected two hits to back 6 2/3 solid innings from Jason Hammel (6-2), who held the Yankees to a pair of runs while striking out six. Counterpart Hiroki Kuroda (6-3) had a rough time, serving up eight hits and getting charged for five runs before exiting with none out in the bottom of the third, the result of a bruised right calf the New York starter sustained from a Machado line drive an inning earlier. Curtis Granderson had a big night in defeat for the Yankees, finishing 3-for-3 with two runs scored and his first home run of the season. David Adams added another solo homer in the top of the ninth.

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Miguel Cabrera drove in three runs and Victor Martinez had two RBI, as Detroit outlasted two rain delays to beat the Cleveland Indians, 11-7, in the finale of a two-game set. Brayan Pena supplied three of Detroit's 14 hits and knocked in a run. Cabrera, Torii Hunter, Jhonny Peralta and Andy Dirks each had two hits for the Tigers, who took Tuesday's opener. Detroit starter Justin Verlander (5-4) allowed five runs on 10 hits and struck out nine in five innings. Michael Brantley finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and Carlos Santana added a two-run homer for the Indians. Cleveland starter Ubaldo Jimenez (3-3) was tagged for six runs and seven hits in four frames.

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Boston put two runs across in the first inning and that is all Clay Buchholz would need as the right-hander went seven strong innings to help the Red Sox to a 6-1 win over the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a three-game set. David Ortiz drove in two with a bases-loaded single to left in the opening frame off Hector Santiago (1-3), who struck out nine over six innings of work. Santiago got the start in place of Chris Sale, who was scratched with shoulder tendinitis but is expected to make his next scheduled start. Buchholz (7-0) allowed just a run on five hits to become the first Red Sox pitcher since Josh Beckett in 2007 to start the season 7-0. Ortiz and Jacoby Ellsbury had two hits apiece while Daniel Nava drove in a pair.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - J.D. Martinez hit a two-run homer and Jordan Lyles pitched six frames of one-run ball, as the Houston Astros defeated the Kansas City Royals, 3-1, to take the rubber match of a three-game series at Minute Maid Park. Lyles (2-1) gave up six hits and a walk in his outing, while Jose Veras pitched a flawless ninth to notch his eighth save. Jason Castro was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Houston, which has won its first series against Kansas City since taking two of three June 17-19, 2005. George Kottaras drove in the lone run for the Royals, who had lost four straight one-run games before defeating Houston on Tuesday. Kansas City starter James Shields (2-5) allowed two runs and seven hits while striking out seven in seven innings.
