Pujols leaves game with calf injury
Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols left Tuesday's game against Cincinnati with an apparent calf injury.
In the seventh inning, Pujols reached out on a pitch and hit a grounder to first. He started to run out of the box, but after taking several steps he fell to the ground clutching his left ankle.
After a few minutes on the ground with trainers and players around him, Pujols was helped off the field and into the locker room.
Pujols is suffering from numerous injuries and sat out a game last Wednesday against Washington with a calf injury.
In 65 games this season, he is hitting .347 with 16 home runs and 42 RBI.
