The Champions Tour travels to "The Magnolia State" this week for the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic in Saucier, just outside of Biloxi. Twelve of the top-13 players on the money list are in the field this week, led by money leader Tom Lehman. The only top-13 player not in the field is Bernhard Langer, who is out with a thumb injury. Lehman has a win and a runner-up finish in three starts this year on the Champions Tour. He has also made the cut in his only two starts on the PGA Tour.

Four members of the World Golf Hall of Fame are scheduled to play this week - Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Larry Nelson and Nick Price. There are 15 major championship winners in the field who have won 22 major championships. They are: Mark Brooks, Mark Calcavecchia, Irwin, Kite, Lehman, Larry Mize, Nelson, Mark O'Meara, Price, Scott Simpson, Jeff Sluman, Craig Stadler, Hal Sutton, Bob Tway and Ian Woosnam.

This week's tournament is being held at Fallen Oak Golf Club, which was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2006. Golf Digest ranks Fallen Oak as the 19th best public course in the United States and Golfweek ranks it as the best golf course "you can play" in the state of Mississippi.

Last year, David Eger captured his first victory in nearly five years. Eger finished three rounds on the Fallen Oak course at 11-under 205, beating Tommy Armour III by a shot. It was the third Champions Tour win for Eger and first since August 21, 2005, when he titled at the Seattle stop. Eger was the only player in the field to card three rounds in the 60s.

The 2010 tournament was the first time that the Champions Tour had staged an event in Mississippi. This is the 37th different state to host an official Champions Tour event. However, both the PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour have held events before on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Champions Tour moves to Floirda in two weeks for the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am at the TPC Tampa Bay, where Langer captured the title last year. Langer, however, will not be on hand due to thumb surgery which will sideline the Hall of Famer through the middle of May.
