* - Defending Champion
Nick Price and Tommy Armour III were tied for the lead heading into the final round last year at the Principal Charity Classic. Price posted a four-under 67 in the final round to beat Armour by four strokes. It was Price`s second win of the season and third on the Champions Tour. He earned his fourth title earlier this year and is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Senior PGA Championship. In his last seven starts on the Champions Tour, Price has finished outside the top seven just once, and that was at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, which is a team event. This will be the 11th playing of this tournament and every previous winner will be on hand this week, including two-time victor Jay Haas. Damon Green, who many know as Zach Johnson`s caddie on the PGA Tour, will make his Champions Tour debut this week. Golf Channel has tape-delayed coverage of all three rounds. Gary Hallberg is slated to defend his title next week when the Champions Tour heads to North Carolina for the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn.
