NOTES
The Champions Tour heads to North Carolina for the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn, which was known as the Ensure Classic at Rock Barn in 2010. Last year`s event at Rock Barn Golf & Spa was held in the first weekend of October, though it was moved up this year. Gary Hallberg notched his first and only Champions Tour victory in the 2010 event with a one-shot win over Fred Couples after shooting a blistering 11-under 61 in the final round. Hallberg hasn`t been able to taste the same success since and hasn`t finished better than 13th in any non-partnered event in 2011. Mark Brooks and Mark Calcavecchia are both in the field this week after both squandered chances in last week`s Principal Charity Classic to notch his first senior victory. Past champions of this event in the field this week include Hallberg, Andy Bean, Doug Tewell and Craig Stadler. The Golf Channel will have coverage of all three rounds. The Champions Tour is off next week as Maryland hosts the U.S. Open, but will return on June 24 for the Dick`s Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, New York, where Loren Roberts won in 2010.
