NOTES:
The Nationwide Tour travels to Tennessee this week for the Children's Hospital Classic. This tournament was previously known as the Chattanooga Classic. There are only three events left prior to the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship. The top 60 players on the money list qualify for the Tour Championship. Jon Mills currently sits in the 60th position, with a $1,154 lead over Nicholas Thompson. Only $6,627 separates Mills from Tyrone Van Aswegen, who is 67th on the money list. The top 25 players on the money list earn their PGA Tour card for 2012. Daniel Chopra currently holds down the 25th spot, with a $6,688 lead over Brenden Pappas.

Last year, Scott Gardiner needed four extra holes to collect his first Nationwide Tour title, as he defeated Joe Affrunti and David Branshaw in a playoff. Gardiner two-putted for birdie on the par-five 18th, the fourth extra hole, for the win.

Gardiner will try to become the first player in Nationwide Tour history to successfully defend his title this week. He needs to finish strong to get into the Tour Championship, as he is currently 84th on the money list, more than $31,000 behind Mills in the 60th spot.

In 2009, Chris Baryla fired rounds of 66-68-65-70 to capture his first Nationwide Tour win. Baryla, who carried a two-shot lead into the final round, finished at 19-under 269 for a one-stroke victory over Troy Kelly.

Arjun Atwal birdied the first playoff hole to defeat Webb Simpson in 2008 and win his first Nationwide Tour title. Atwal, who established a new course record 60 in the second round and 54-hole tournament record, only managed an even-par 72 in the final round to finish regulation at 24-under 264.

In 2007, Ron Whittaker struggled a bit down the stretch in the final round, but hung on for his first Nationwide Tour victory. Whittaker only managed a two-under 70 in the final round, following rounds of 66-67-68, but it was enough for a one-shot win over David McKenzie at 17-under 271.

Kyle Reifers, who had just recently graduated from Wake Forest University in 2006, made his professional debut a memorable one, as he defeated Brandt Snedeker on the first playoff hole, coming from seven strokes back on the final day. Reifers became the 11th player to win his first start on the Nationwide Tour and the 19th player in tour history to win as a Monday qualifier.

The Nationwide Tour returned to the Chattanooga area following a 10-year absence in 2003. There have been four playoffs and four one-shot victories in the eight years of the event. Every winner of this tournament has been a first-time winner on the Nationwide Tour.

Chattanooga hosted a PGA Tour event from 1986-1992 and was the site of three Tournament Players Series events from 1983-85. Designed in the tradition of great C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor courses (The National Golf Links of America, Yeaman's Hall, The Chicago Golf Club and Lookout Mountain), Black Creek Club combines the best of vintage design with all that contemporary golf has to offer.

The Nationwide Tour moves to Miami, Florida next week for the Miccosukee Championship, where Jason Gore captured the 2010 event.
