Andy Matthews returns to Mexico to defend his title at the Mexican PGA
Championship. Matthews fired four rounds in the 60s to win by two strokes
over Jose de Jesus Rodriguez. It was his first Canadian Tour title. The only
other previous winner in the field this week is 2008 champion John Ellis.
This is the last of three straight events outside of Canada to start the
season for the Canadian Tour. The tour returns to action June 2nd with the
Times Colonist Island Savings Open, where Brock Mackenzie was a one-stroke
winner last year.
