Connolly quietly moving up the rankings

Tim Connolly is in the midst of a 16-game scoring streak.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Over the last month, Buffalo center Tim Connolly has been one of the best fantasy forwards in the league. Sure, Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby get all the press, but Connolly with linemates Jochen Hecht and Jason Pominville, has quietly gone about his business and until now, hasn't gotten much recognition.

Connolly is in the midst of a 16-game scoring streak, having totaled seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points since December 23rd. Add in a plus/minus rating of +12 and 49 shots-on-goal and you have a great month.

Even better, you have a one-in-three chance of being able to pick Connolly up with just a waiver. He's owned in just 67% of all leagues.

Connolly was the fifth-overall pick in the 1999 draft by the New York Islanders. He spent two season there, scoring 14 and 10 goals.

He was traded to Buffalo along with Taylor Pyatt for Michael Peca in 2001-02 and had his best season in 2005-06 when he totaled 55 points (16G, 39A) in just 55 games.

Until this year, that was the high-point of his career. Through January 25th of this season, Connolly already has amassed 48 points (13G, 35A) including 21 power-play points, 138 shots and a +10 plus/minus rating. He's on pace to set personal highs in each of these categories.

And to think, you could have drafted him in the 17th round (ADP 202). His current statistics are the equal to those of Daniel Sedin (ADP 23), Jonathan Toews (ADP 35) or Travis Zajac (ADP 99) all of whom were drafted much, much higher than Connolly.

If he is available in your league, don't wait any longer, pick him up.
