Blatche picks bad time to feud

Andray Blatche's (right) recent "insubordination" could be a blow to his owners.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - We're coming down the home stretch in our 2009-10 NBA fantasy championship seasons and every point/rebound is important which makes Andray Blatche's Monday night "insubordination" particularly galling.

Apparently, according to sources, Blatche played just seven minutes on Monday because after his coach, Flip Saunders, took him out of the game to talk to him about his poor defense, he refused listen. Saunders sent coaches down to him more than once and when he didn't respond, he sat for the remainder of the game.

"When a coach wants to teach you something, and you think you're above that, because you've played 16 games," said Saunders. "I had Kevin Garnett, (he would say) 'What do you want, coach? I want to get better every time.' He never copped that type of attitude."

When asked if he would play Wednesday's game against Indiana, Saunders replied, "I doubt it."

If this is in fact true, it's a blow to his owners, who have been riding his great play these past few weeks. Since the "purge" in Washington of Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, DeShawn Stevenson and Brendan Haywood, Blatche has been playing at an All-Star level. He averaged 21.1 ppg and 8.6 rpg in 11 February games and 19.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg in 12 March contests.

Now, with just 13 games remaining in the season, many owners are left wondering what to do with their center position as Blatche and Saunders feud. It can't work out well for Blatche, since the team doesn't "need" him for any kind of playoff run at 21 wins and 48 losses. Which means, Saunders could easily use these final two weeks to "teach" his young center a lesson.

Unfortunately, it's going to hurt many fantasy owners as Blatche was owned in 81% of all leagues and started in 71% of them.
