Week 2 Player Fantasy Rankings - Kickers

By Jesse Pantuosco, Fantasy Sports Writer

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - What's an opening week without drama?

We'll never know because Week 1 was full of it.

Four games came down to the final play last week. Luckily for the Patriots, Rams, Jets and Texans, their kickers were up to the challenge.

One of those kickers, Randy Bullock, sits atop our Week 2 fantasy ranks.

And why not? The Texans are hosting the Titans, a team they're sure to put up plenty of points against (27th in yards allowed last season).

The late-game heroics may not be necessary this time around but if it does come down to Bullock's right foot, I wouldn't bet against him. Playing at Reliant Stadium in Houston, he won't have to brave Mother Nature like the rest of the league. In 2012, kickers went a combined 30-for-36 at Reliant Stadium including 5-for-8 on kicks of 50 or more yards.

Don't worry that it's only Bullock's second NFL game. The best kicker in fantasy last year was a rookie (Blair Walsh of the Vikings).

Stephen Gostkowski is another kicker I'm expecting big things from in Week 2. The high-octane Patriots don't usually settle for field goals but with Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen sidelined, they may have to this week. For what it's worth, Gostkowski has an 86.2 percent success rate against the Jets in his career (25-for-29).
