Description: Cubs third baseman Anthony Rizzo was 3-for-4 with two runs in the loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Insight: One of two Rizzo's hits were doubles. He scored in the third and in the fifth as Chicago took another lead in St. Louis, but the Cardinals again came back to win, 7-4. Rizzo is hitting .333/.473/.552 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 87 at-bats this season.
Description: Orioles first baseman Chris Davis was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

Description: Indians first baseman Nick Swisher has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Insight: Swisher is starting at designated hitter on Tuesday and will bat sixth. He missed the first month of the season to receive knee surgery. He probably can be ignored in free agency until he proves to be healthy once again.
Description: Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard is 4-for-7 with three home runs against Braves right-hander Shelby Miller.
Insight: Obviously a very small sample size, but at least it means he's seeing the ball well. Howard is still hitting under .200, just .193, with 12 RBI overall. he has hit four homers in his last 12 games after going homerless in the first 11 games.
Description: Indians first baseman Nick Swisher (surgery on both knees) is expected to be activated for Tuesday's game against Kansas City.
Insight: Swisher had knee issues all last season and hit .208 with eight homers, 42 RBI, 111 Ks and a .609 OPS in 360 at-bats. He'll struggle to get at-bats in a strong Indians lineup and fantasy owners should probably ignore him until he proves he's healthy.
Description: Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman is just 1-for-14 with five strikeouts against Phillies right-hander Aaron Harang.
Insight: Freeman was 2-for-4 on Sunday, getting an RBI-double in the first inning. Freeman is hitting .284 with four home runs and 11 RBI this season, but Harang has pitched well all season and should win this matchup ... again.
Description: Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt had three hits in the, 1-0, loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
Insight: Goldschmidt had a double and two singles, but obviously did score or drive in a run since his team didn't score in 13 innings on Sunday. Goldschmidt is hitting .356 with six home runs and 22 RBI this season.
Description: Pirates first baseman Pedro Alvarez was 1-for-2 with four walks in the extra-inning lost to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Insight: Sound familar? Pittsburgh lost all three games this weekend in extra innings to the Cardinals. It appeared that Alvarez was going to give the Pirates a, 2-1, victory when he hit a solo bomb in the top of the 12th, but the Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the inning. St. Louis won on a walkoff home run in the 14th. Alvarez is hitting .227 and sadly, has a higher batting average than teammates Josh Harrison, Andrew McCutchen, and Jordy Mercer. Alverez also has five home runs and 12 RBI.
Description: Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is on a hot streak, true, but is in an unfavorable matchup on Friday.
Insight: Teixeira never hit for high average and that is again true this season, but he's already hit eight homers this spring. However, he's just 2-for-17 against Indians hurler Justin Masterson. You should avoid this one today.
Description: Twins first baseman Joe Mauer was 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run in the, 12-2, victory over the White Sox on Thursday.
Insight: Mauer drove in the first run of the game with an RBI-single in the first and then had another RBI-single in the eighth. Mauer has really turned it on lately, going 6-for-10 with four RBI in the last two games, but he is still looking for his first home run.
Description: Athletics left fielder Mark Canha was 3-for-4 with a home runs and three RBI in the, 6-5, loss to the Angels on Thursday.
Insight: Canha began the Oakland comeback with a two-run homer in the seventh and then drove in another run on a single in the ninth. At one point, the Athletics trailed, 6-0, but behind Canha, they nearly tied it in the ninth. Canha is hitting .279 with two home runs and 10 RBI.
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs versus the Twins as Detroit won, 10-7.
Insight: Cabrera nearly had three different home runs in three different directions, but his opposite field drive hit off the way in right field. Cabrera hit two other bombs, one to left and another to deep center. He is hitting .370/.453/.630 with five home runs and 17 RBI in 81 at-bats this season.
Description: Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is a career .471 hitter against Phil Hughes.
Insight: Surprise, surprise, Cabrera hits an opposing pitcher well. He is 16-for-34 with five homers and 12 RBI against Hughes and should be able to continue his hot hitting against him on Wednesday afternoon.
Description: Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman went 4-for-6 with four RBI in the, 13-12, loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.
Insight: Freeman also had three runs scored as Atlanta jumped out to a, 9-1, lead in the second innning. Washington slowly chipped away, and finally took the lead in the ninth. Freeman is hitting .286 with four home runs and eight RBI this season.
Description: Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion will not be given any help in his attmpt to end his early season slump.
Insight: While he does have four homers and eight RBI, Encarnacion is hitting just .173 this season. He will face Clay Buchholz on Tuesday who he is 4-for-28 against during his career. The positive thing though is that two of hits are home runs.
Description: Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is feast or famine against Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner.
Insight: Gonzalez is hitting only .114 against Bumgarner, but two of his four hits have left the yard. Gonzalez is so hot to start the year, it is hard to sit him, but the matchup on Tuesday is not in his favor.
Description: Mariners LF/1B Logan Morrison should probably get Monday off based on his current cold streak and his poor matchup with Texas starter Yovani Gallardo. Update: Morrison is getting the night off.
Insight: Morrison is hitting .159 this season through 17 games and he's a career 1-for16 (.063) with five strikeouts versus Gallardo.
Description: Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run homer in the Dodgers, 11-8, victory over the Padres on Saturday.
Insight: Gonzalez was 2-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. That was his seventh homer of the season. He is hitting .403/.459/.851 with 18 RBI too. If owners want to sell high on Gonzalez now would be the time, but it is tempted to just ride out this hot streak. He leads the National League in home runs and RBI and is second in average.
Description: Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard hit a two-run homer in the, 5-2, loss to the Braves on Saturday.
Insight: Howard's homer came in the fourth inning to give Philadelphia a, 2-0, lead, but Atlanta scored the final five runs of the game. Howard went 1-for-3 and is hitting .189 with two home runs and six RBI this season. Not exactly fantasy relevant.
Description: Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run in the, 8-2, loss to the Mets on Saturday.
Insight: Teixeira had the only Yankees RBI of the day with a solo home run in the seventh. The team's other run came on a Jacoby Ellsbury's double play. Teixeira started the season very slowly, but he is 5-for-8 in the last two games with three home runs.
Description: Rays first baseman James Loney (right oblique strain) is in Friday night's starting lineup.
Insight: Loney comes back to a tough matchup, against R.A. Dickey. He's just a .182 hitter (6-for-33) against the knuckleballer. Loney has always hit for a decent average, but lacks the power fantasy owners like from the first base position, so his fantasy value is limited.
Description: San Diego first baseman Yonder Alonso is a career 6-for-8 (.750) with two doubles and a pair of home runs versus Rockies starter Jordan Lyles.
Insight: Alonso is off to a hot start, batting .365 this season. Add in the game is in Colorado and the wind will be blowing out to center and Alonso should be in every starting lineup despite the small sample size.
Description: Giants first baseman Brandon Belt is a 3-for-27 lifetime versus Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw.
Insight: It's not a huge surprise because lots of players struggle against Kershaw, but Belt's .111 batting average is less than desirable for fantasy owners. Find someone else to start at first base on Wednesday.
Description: It might be time to finally sit the struggling Angels first baseman Albert Pujols.
Insight: Pujols is batting below the Mendoza Line in the first 52 at-bats this season, and against Athletics starter Sonny Gray, Pujols is just 1-for-13 in his career. Pujols does have two 2-for-4 games in the last three days, so there's always a chance he breaks out, but if owners have a better option, it is alright to sit Pujols.
Description: Twins first baseman Joe Mauer has nine hits, including three home runs, against Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie.
Insight: Mauer is 9-for-25 overall with four RBI and six walks versus Guthrie. It would be nice for Mauer to show some of that power on Wednesday because he still doesn't have a home run in 52 at-bats in 2015.
Description: Pirates infielder Pedro Alvarez is just 3-for-17 in his lifetime against Cubs starter Jason Hammel.
Insight: Alvarez wasn't in the lineup on Tuesday with Cubs lefty pitcher Travis Wood starting, but Alvarez should start versus the right-handed Hammel on Wednesday. That doesn't mean he should go back into fantasy lineups as Alvarez is hitting just .176 versus Hammel in his career. Two of Alvarez's three hits against Hammel, however, are home runs.
Description: Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder was 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and run scored in the, 7-1, victory over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Insight: Fielder had a ground rule double in the first inning and then hit a two-run homer in the eighth. It was Fielder's first home run of the season. He is also hitting .386 with nine RBI this season.
Description: Reds first baseman Joey Votto hit yet another home run in the, 16-10, offensive slugfest against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Insight: Votto has three home runs in the last five games and six on the season. He was 2-for-5 on Tuesday with the solo home run, walk and three runs scored. Votto is hitting .377/.492/.792 with 13 RBI as well.
Description: Twins first baseman Joe Mauer had two hits and an RBI in the, 6-5, loss to the Royals on Tuesday.
Insight: Mauer had an RBI-single in the fourth to score Danny Santana. It was his fifth RBI, but he still doesn't have a home run. Because of the lack of power, Mauer is only fantasy relevant in very deep leagues.
