Murray State sets 2014 schedule

Murray, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Murray State football will play six home games and make trips to Louisville and Western Michigan as part of a 12-game 2014 schedule announced Wednesday.

Following a season-opening home game against Union College on Aug. 28, Murray State will play its two FBS opponents in back-to-back matchups, visiting Louisville on Sept. 6 and Western Michigan on Sept. 20.

"We are going to be tested in our non-conference schedule with two FBS games," Racers coach Chris Hatcher said. "The OVC has improved every year, and looking through the schedule, there are no easy games. We will have to play well early in the conference season to set us up for the tough stretch at Eastern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky in November."

Murray State also will play home games at Stewart Stadium against Ohio Valley Conference opponents Jacksonville State (Sept. 27), Southeast Missouri State (Oct. 11), UT Martin (Nov. 1) and Tennessee State (Nov. 22) as well as Kentucky Wesleyan (Oct. 25) in non-conference action.
