Battle of the running backs in NEC matchup

New Britain, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Neither Central Connecticut State nor St. Francis (Pa.) are in the midst of spectacular seasons as far as their records are concerned, but the Northeast Conference football teams boast two of the more productive ground games in the country.

The two will square off Saturday at CCSU.

Saint Francis senior Kyle Harbridge was recently named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List, and currently ranks first in the FCS in rushing yards per game (188.3).

Harbridge, who missed all of the 2012 season while recovering from a knee injury, is second in the FCS in total rushing yards with 753 (behind Sam Houston State's Tim Flanders), and has eight rushing scores. He's also first in the nation in all-purpose yards, averaging 236.25 yards per game.

On the opposite side, CCSU junior Rob Hollomon ranks fourth in the country in all-purpose yards with 204.8 per game. He's 11th in the country with 566 total rushing yards this season, and has scored six times on the ground.

Both teams will be playing their first NEC game. Saint Francis is 1-3 overall and CCSU is 1-4.
