Hampton retains Rose as football coach

Hampton, VA (Sports Network) - Donovan Rose will return as Hampton University's head football coach next season, athletic director Novelle Dickenson announced Monday.

Hampton lost its first four games and finished with a 3-7 record this past season - the worst mark of Rose's four seasons. He is 21-22 overall at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference school.

Rose, a Hampton alum, spents 18 years as an assistant in the program before becoming head coach in 2009.
