Knee injury ends Majors' career at Austin Peay

Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - Austin Peay senior safety Antwaun Majors has had his career end by a knee injury, the Ohio Valley Conference university announced Wednesday.

The Governors' leading tackler the past two seasons, Majors tore the anterior cruciate ligament as well as his medial and lateral meniscus in his right knee in a sideline injury during last Saturday's game against Tennessee State.

The fifth-year senior, a Mt. Juliet native who came to APSU as a walk-on, graduated in May and came back this fall to compete in his final year of eligibility.

He finishes his career with 208 tackles.

"I really hate it for Antwaun, especially with him being a fifth-year guy," APSU coach Rick Christophel said. "He has been the leader of this defense. He is an exceptional young man who is just a self-made football player.

"We are going to need other guys to step up in his absence and I am confident they will."
