Yale continues search for football coach
New Haven, CT (Sports Network) - Yale University is continuing its search for a new head football coach after University of Connecticut defensive coordinator Don Brown reportedly turned down the Ivy League program.
The New Haven Register reported Monday night that Brown withdrew his name from consideration for the position, likely after receiving an offer. He was the defensive coordinator at Yale under Carm Cozza from 1987-92.
Other reported candidates who have interviewed with Yale's search committee include former Yale assistant coach Tony Reno, Georgetown head coach Kevin Kelly and Lehigh offensive coordinator Dave Cecchini.
Yale has been without a head coach since Tom Williams resigned last month following questions over his resume and candidacy as a Rhodes Scholar in 1992. He was 16-14 in three seasons, including 5-5 this year.
