GAME NOTES: Alabama State just missed out on back-to-back SWAC East championships, losing to Alabama A&M and Southern by a combined four points. Saturday, the Hornets will look to reverse a three-year losing streak against Tuskegee in the 88th edition of the Turkey Day Classic.

Tuskegee is a recent power in Division II and the SIAC, winning four straight conference titles between 2006 and 2009, but has struggled this season after going 0-3 in September. A defense-oriented team, the Golden Tigers are amongst the Division II leaders for total defense (288.8 ypg), scoring defense (18.22 ppg) and tackles for a loss (85).

Countering Tuskegee's defense, in what should be a low-scoring game, Alabama State has been one of the FCS' best units against the passing game. Kejuan Riley is second in the nation with eight interceptions and is the leader of a defensive unit that allowed just 17.1 ppg.

Both teams should be well rested for the rivalry game, Tuskegee hasn't played since a Nov. 5 win against Miles, 27-25 and Alabama State hasn't competed since falling to Southern, 26-23 on Nov. 12.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Alabama State 17, Tuskegee 14.
