William & Mary reportedly will start QB Caprio

Williamsburg, VA - William & Mary will start redshirt sophomore Brent Caprio at quarterback in an important CAA Football game against New Hampshire on Saturday, a newspaper reported Friday.

The Daily Press of Newport News, Va., said Caprio will be given the nod over Mike Paulus, who started last Saturday's game at Delaware before being relieved by Caprio.

Regular starter Michael Graham is sidelined with an undisclosed illness.

The 6-foot-1, 212-pound Caprio, from Somers Point, N.J., has come off the bench in three games this season. He is 10-for-20 for 94 yards with two interceptions.

Caprio's lone career start was against New Hampshire last year. He was knocked out of the game with an injury midway through the third quarter.

It is believed 16th-ranked William & Mary (3-3, 1-2 CAA) must win its five remaining games to qualify for the FCS playoffs.

Sixth-ranked New Hampshire (4-1, 2-0) is tied for first place in the CAA with Maine and Towson.
